Falyn Fairchild can run faster than anything. Written from the Falyn’s perspective, this story focuses on her, her past, and also her introduction to Taylor. Falyn comes from a wealthy and politically powerful family, but when she breaks with her ideals, she turns her back on them and ultimately sets out to find out who she is as she confronts her past.

Knowing that she must endure a painful journey to get to graduation, she is shocked and surprised that Taylor could be the key to unlocking her heart. Taylor is a traveling star working for the US Forest Service working and living with dangers and thrills in her life. She doesn’t expect to find what she does in Falyn, as her life reveals a connection they didn’t expect.

I felt like this story was a bit disjointed and didn’t flow at times, probably in part due to a lack of character development. Some of the supporting characters seem to appear without background or explanation and in at least one case (spoilers watch), I really didn’t see any point in including them in the story other than prompting quick tears!

Overall though, I liked this story. Taylor’s personality was sweet, caring, and quite lovable, but I couldn’t really connect with Falyn. I understand that with her background she has a hard time trusting people, but let’s face it, she was a complete cow at times. I really don’t know why Taylor stayed with her.

The entire Maddox clan made appearances when the story intersected with plots from previous books. So if you missed Abby and Travis, don’t worry, they make an appearance, albeit a brief one.

While I plan to continue reading this series, I am excited to see more of the next installment. This felt rushed at times and possibly felt like a book the author was struggling to write or perhaps connect with.

It took me a while to get to this one! June and July were like heaven for book lovers, but that was not the only case! I read some reviews when buying and that was my mistake! I never read reviews and since last year I never write reviews! Why? Because my my thought who cares. But then I realized that if I was passionate enough to follow one author and read ALL of their books, it might be worth a simple review to tell another reader how much I loved the book! Now I love reviewing them, but I hate when people destroy their work.

So if you know Jamie McGuire, you know how we all fell in love with Travis Maddox and were introduced to his brother and begged for more. And more Jamie gave us.

Looking back and completing the “brother” role that we all love to Travis, we had the opportunity to meet Thomas (who had a more adult story and fell in love with Liis despite the heartbreak he had with Camille and to this day with me second favorite brother ) trenton was a great story but i’m not sure i love cami as much as him but i rated him high and loved him back then but now we meet taylor and falyn and can i just say taylor now jumped to #2 Taylor has a dirty mouth, a great sense of humor, and never had feelings for a woman until he met Falyn.

Falyn is very damaged and she believes that she is cursed because of the baggage that she carries with her. Just as you start cheering and screaming (he catches the girl) she changes her mind! So that??? You have to read the story, but I will tell you that the ending is so heartbreaking that it makes you, the reader, wonder if it will all work out.

You want to cheer them up, you want to slap them both around, but you definitely need to read the others first to understand the bond between the brothers and the sacrifices this family will make for each other. For 5 young men who grew up without a mother, they know how to treat their wives and get what they want!
