Normally when you open a book you never know how good the story is going to be, but with this author I can honestly say that you always get a quality story that not only engages you but also makes you feel part of the being history rather than an observer. Chosen by a Sinner does that to the max, and this fast-paced story literally takes you on a fantastic fictional escape.
Luca Controni is the boss of the Italian Mafia, arrogant and demanding as he is known, he is also a hard worker and determined to get what he wants. In this case, Marisa Koslov, the daughter of a well-known former Bratva bully boss, a Bratva princess. Mariya is a strong-willed, self-confident and spoiled young woman who is also able to stand up for herself. Together they are like kerosene thrown into an open flame.
There is plenty of incredible action, breathtaking drama and great romance to enjoy in this story. While there are some darker and also very serious elements, there is some fantastic humor in this book that literally made me laugh out loud.
Chosen by a Sinner is book 4 in the Sinners series of standalone books and if you haven’t read them all that’s no problem but you’re missing out on some amazing stories.
This is my first reading of this author and it was unreal. I flew through so fast I couldn’t get enough of it. This is Book 4 in the Sinners series and can be read on its own. Luca and Mariya were perfect together.
They both have had feelings for each other for years, but they never recognized each other’s feelings because they never got along. Luca is his brother’s best friend. While Mariya’s birthday weekend is in Las Vegas, she gets very drunk, tells him her feelings for him, drags him to a chapel, and gets married. When he wakes up, he is in shock and can’t remember anything and wants to annul the marriage. Their families insist they stay together for 6 months and try to make it work, if it doesn’t work they will annul the marriage in 6 months. Luca insists it will be a real marriage in those 6 months, Mariya never thinks it will work.
The feelings between them become very real and Luca’s love for her is quite intense.
This book was fast paced, action packed with the perfect amount of steam. I can’t wait for book 5 so I can get more of this world and I hope his brother gets his own book.
If you like the mafia, I recommend this reading. It was absolutely amazing.
Chosen by a Sinner is my new favorite of the series. I couldn’t stop once I started. A chance marriage between the Bratva princess and the Italian mafia boss was unexpected and a lot of fun to read.
The story is told from the point of view of Mariya and Luca, who I loved. We don’t have to guess Luca’s motives, he reveals his heart and his emotions for us to read. Mariya was amazing, she is the beloved daughter but her father made sure she could defend herself. I enjoyed as their relationship unfolded, those tentative beginnings that turned into a deeply passionate love story.
I like the way the suspense and danger were built into the story and became an integral part of its story. Some of my favorite parts were when the families got together and of course some of the previous characters came back to do what they do best. Luca will be hard to beat for romance. His love and devotion for his wife was the shining light of the story.
