If you thought Lost Feather had drawn you in, Fallen Feather will make you completely addicted.
To be clear, I hate reruns and I hate cliffs, but for Merri Bright, I willingly continue to jump off that cliff because this series is addictive and absorbing.
More of the mystery that has kept us on the edge of our seats, so to speak, unfolds in book one.
Things that didn’t make sense suddenly become clear, harrowing events are even more devastating, but Feather remains true to himself throughout. She helps, she’s kind, she’s selfless, and she puts everyone above themselves, even when they don’t deserve it.
We get more of Rumple in this book, which she was probably one of my favorite things! I’m such a friend of Team Abyss Demon Angel.
We also get to see the true nature of Righteous and not the cocky shit he had been for most of the first book.
The way Merri Bright can weave a whole world of complex connections never ceases to amaze me. Everything fits together so beautifully and so terribly painful.
Make sure to grab a box of tissues and head to a corner by yourself. Between all the laughing and crying, someone will think you’ve lost your composure with the sudden mood swings.
Not only does this book end on a cliffhanger, it takes you and your emotions and launches you off the cliff into the void, but I can assure you that it will be the best free fall into devastation you have ever experienced!
We picked up right where Lost Feather left off and the opening scenes with Rumple and Feather had such beautifully written visuals while also making me laugh until my non-existent abs ached. It’s such a big trend in this book that every chapter made me laugh with these character interactions while also having this very deep, real, emotional undercurrent of searching for self-love and identity and struggling with the goal.
The juxtaposition of the two makes something so uniquely beautiful. Feather returns to the Sanctuary, and although the gate has been healed, we quickly learn that the danger to the universe does not come from the Abyss at all, but from within the Sanctuary itself.
This book made me laugh out loud, it gave me chills, it touched every corner of my heart, it made me angry, it broke me, it made me laugh even harder, it gave me hope and peace and at the same time it made me want to break the resistance wants. lead with Feather and brings in all those magical supporting characters that Merri fell in love with as well.
Yeah, it’s funny, hot (Mik’s dirty talk is!) and adorable, but also the message of sacrificial and selfless love and grace, that no one is unforgivable or unworthy of love, is so uplifting and all what i need. I can’t wait to see how this series ends!
