Nora’s life is being rewritten…
Nora Hamilton knows better than anyone the formula of love. As a writer for romance channels, that’s her job. But when her too-good-for-work husband leaves her and her two children behind, Nora capitalizes on the collapse of her marriage and writes the best screenplay of her life. No one is more surprised than she is when it is picked up for the big screen and filmed in her 100-year-old home. When ex-Sexiest Man Alive Leo Vance is cast as her Nora’s husband, Nora’s life will never be the same.
The morning after the wraps are fired and the team has left, Nora finds Leo on her front porch with a half-empty bottle of tequila and a proposal. She pays a thousand dollars a day to stay for a week. The extra seven grand would give Nora a break, but it’s the anguish in her eyes that makes her say yes. Seven days: depending on how you look at it, a blink of an eye or an eternity. Time enough to fall in love. Enough time to break your heart.
Full of warmth, wit, and wisdom, Nora Goes Off the Script is the best kind of love story: the real kind, where love is complicated by work, children, and the emotional tolls that life brings. For Nora and Leo, that kind of love is bigger than the big screen.

This book touched my heart! It’s the best parts of Funny You Should Ask and Evvie Drake Starts Over with a great help from Emily Henry, all rolled into one funny, moving and emotional story.
Nora Hamilton is a divorced single mother of two and a TV soap writer. When he writes a script about the fall of his marriage, instead of his standard Happy Ending script, he sells himself to a Hollywood studio that plans to make a feature film about it, complete with former Sexiest Man Alive actor Leo Vance. , playing his ex, and pay him to film it at his home.
The pair stumble from the moment he steps out of the trailer messing up her lawn, but the morning after the cast and crew leave, Nora finds Leo on her porch watching the sun rise. He offers her a proposition: let him stay a week at the teahouse they were filming in, and he’ll pay her $1,000 a day’s rent. As a single mother who keeps her family afloat without the help of her too-good-for-work ex, she knows the money will bolster her meager finances.
But it is the raw and desperate emotion of hers that she sees on her face that makes him accept her arrangement. As the days go by, they find a familiar and comfortable pattern that turns into a whirlwind of adventure. When Leo has to leave Nora to go back to Los Angeles for an audition, he promises to be back in a week.
But life gets in the way and once a week goes by Leo doesn’t come back and then disappears from Nora’s life altogether. What follows is the aftermath of fast and intense love, heartbreak and fighting for your family when all you want to do is break up.
A really beautiful and also emotional love story with a happy ending. You can relate to Nora: she’s a wonderful mother, a writer, and she won’t let her past pain make her open her heart again. Leo is complicated but open-hearted and generous. The couple is so well balanced that they really have a great relationship. The emotional ebb and flow between them is well portrayed and totally believable. My only wish is that we could have seen part of the story from Leo’s point of view! This author is now an automatic purchase for me!
