My God. This has been a whirlwind with Soman Chainani’s characters for over 7 years. I will never forget how much I waited for the release of the next book in the series every time I finished the previous book, and while it’s normal for readers to be less than enthusiastic as the series progresses, I am never happened in this exquisite book series.
With each book I was never disappointed or regretted spending my money on it as it was crystal clear that Chainani had poured every ounce of passion and care into ensuring his story was almost masterfully crafted with strong outlines and guidance. . along with the best themes that will make readers question and challenge themselves in real life as we follow the characters journey.
What really amazed me was the amount of detail that made this series ten times more fascinating. As I followed the story (especially this latest book), I wondered how on earth Chainini managed to remember all the little hints of premonition and mystery, as well as the sparks of emotion that flowed between each Characters flew so they all led to paint a picture. He’s even managed to tie a very old premonition referenced midway through the series to the ending of this latest book: SPOILER WARNING
*** …when Hort’s wish for the wishfish to paint his and Sophie’s wedding to Agatha and Tedros as the rulers of Camelot in the audience (which I think was shown in book 3) became a reality in this book, which is where it ends at Die royal wedding of Agatha and Tedros and Sophie and Hort also ends together.
Aside from the details that keep readers on their toes, another feature of this series that I really liked was the growth of the characters. Unlike other shoddy, poorly written and plotted novels, ALL (and I mean all characters mentioned in the story) have developments and developments that make them appealing to us as if they were real people. .
What I really appreciated was that not only the main heroines were cared for and cared for: each character had their own story, their own development and tests, and that was what made me tirelessly read the pages and without a doubt believe. that Chainini grounded his soul to bring these characters to life.
I’ve grown so fond of these characters through my journey with them over the years, and raw emotion comes back to me as I recall how these characters started in the very beginning and how far they’ve come since then. For all their flaws, Agatha’s morals and sometimes bossy attitude, Tedros’ impulsiveness and tendency toward pride, and Sophie’s vanity and greed, it’s only made me love them more because of the complex feelings and personalities they assume. .
There are also so many hidden surprises and twists in this spin-off/inversion of well-known fairy tales that will keep you on your toes the whole time.
I’m so glad I’m staying up many nights living with these characters and super excited to read the Whoe series again!
HUGE thanks and respect to Chainani – he made many of his readers a part of his story as we merge with the characters on the pages. Thank you for including us in this wonderful story.
If you haven’t discovered this series yet, you’re welcome to try it out. I promise you it will be worth it.
