MacKenzie (Kenzie) Montgomery is an event planner who loves Christmas. She joined a dating app and set up a blind date, but when her job was over she didn’t have time to go home and change and didn’t want to be late, so she showed up in an elf outfit .

Andrew Wainwright, 34, is a trial attorney hoping to become a partner and hates Christmas. To say he’s surprised when Kenzie shows up dressed as an elf is an understatement. He just wants out of the restaurant and doesn’t think they’re a good match, but when she asks him where he went to law school and then asks if he knows her brother, it turns out he’s her best friend .

Dinner didn’t go so well. Now Andrew turns to Kenzie for help planning his company’s holiday event. She can’t stop him from building her business. She makes a deal with Andrew to go to 3 holiday events with her so she can show him Christmas and hopes he will change his mind about it.

Kenzie is working hard to make her event planning business a success and is looking forward to the holiday season and all that comes with it. When an event that requires her to dress up as an elf is late, she goes to her blind date at a fancy restaurant in her costume, but her date isn’t that impressed.

Andrew is an uptight lawyer who can’t get away from his blind date fast enough because not only is he embarrassed about his outfit, but she also turns out to be his best friend’s sister. She’d planned to go tonight in the past, but when her boss’s wife is looking for an event planner, she’s hoping Kenzie’s recommendation will increase her chances of a match, but she certainly didn’t expect to have to help . Especially since he doesn’t want anything to do with Christmas.

There’s so much more to Andrew than meets the eye, from his romance to his reasons for not letting anyone get too close, while Kenzie is determined to live her life the way others might think. The narrators were the perfect choice for the characters, bringing out both Andrew’s reserved and sexy side and Kenzie’s fun and flirtatious personality.

What could be nicer than a fun Christmas book? A fun Christmas read from big brother’s best friend. I absolutely adored these two. Andrew and Kenzie were complete opposites. She loved Christmas more than anything and he didn’t. Their cute meeting was definitely a cute meeting, but it was also an oh no meeting… Although Andrew was best friends with Kenzie’s brother, they never met him. So imagine the surprise when they realize who they are.

Honestly? He loved these two very much and loved watching them fall in love. I loved seeing the magic of Christmas come to life through Kenzie’s eyes and I loved the way Andrew was excited about anything and willing to try. Her backstory was sad, but I felt like it was something I should have gotten years ago instead of holding on to the pain and shame. These two could have been opposites, but they complemented each other very well. She brought out her happy side and he helped her build a backbone.

If you love your older brother’s best friend’s heartwarming Christmas story then this is a great book to read. I loved it so much and am sad it’s over.
