This story is about Autumn Fisher, an aspiring fashion designer, and Simon Corbin. Autumn wins a place in a competition for a fashion house in Paris. I liked Autumn’s personality and her perspective on what she was striving for. I loved the comedy in the way she met Simon and the silliness of the other ladies she forms relationships with. There was laughter, tears, fear and success.

I can’t get enough of Lauren Landish’s books. His books grabbed me from page one and I want to read fast, get to the HEA, but also slowly savor the whole story.

Simon is a bachelor, was abandoned in an orphanage as a child, was raised by his cold-hearted aunt and has never felt loved. He works in his aunt’s fashion house, but never feels valued.
Autumn is a fashion designer determined to make it in the fashion world despite her mother’s disapproval of her life. She works with a close friend who owns a fashion design business in New York. While working there, she receives a call with the opportunity to enter a fashion design competition in Paris.

Autumn arrives in Paris and at the fashion studio, but she accidentally opens the wrong door and Simon catches a glimpse of her body. He is immediately attracted to her. A relationship slowly develops between Simon and Autumn as he shows her Paris. Their aunt forbids them to see each other, but they secretly carry on.

On the night of the final fashion pageant, things go horribly wrong for Autumn, although it’s not her fault. Realizing that Simon’s aunt deliberately messed up her dress designs, she returns to New York but sadly misses Simon. Eventually, with the help of Autumn’s best friend, Molly, Simon convinces Autumn to forgive him, and they both confess their true feelings for each other. The story ends with all their problems solved and the two arrive at their HEA.

I have read several Lauren Landish books and they are always well written, with great characters and a beautiful romantic story. I wish I had given this book more stars and I highly recommend it.

Growing up in a small town in Massachusetts, Autumn followed her dreams at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she quickly landed a job at a fashion house. Jacobs isn’t a big fashion house, but they’re well-regarded, sales are good, and it feels like… home. Imagine Autumn’s surprise when the CEO of the Corbin House calls.

Autumn is invited to join them in France and is taken along on the way to Paris. Jacqueline Corbin is one of the best designers in the world. His nephew Simon is CEO and a sought-after role model. Simon meets Autumn by accident and although she is utterly embarrassed and a little humiliated, after that first meeting Simon is delighted and maybe even a little obsessed with her. To their aunt’s chagrin, they soon become inseparable. Autumn’s purpose for this trip was to learn more about the fashion industry and maybe work closely with Jacqueline, which would be a great opportunity.

Autumn knows that Simon has a playboy reputation, all the other designers have blasphemed. Simon can be very persuasive and when Autumn meets the man he really is, she can’t deny it. Soon they both need reassurance that they are not alone with their growing feelings. But fashion can be a killer business, and things – and people – aren’t always what they seem, especially when it comes to money and power.
