Sometimes as a reader you get lucky and find an author who writes the kind of books and style you love. I was fortunate to find that with Layla and the Hyde series in particular.

It doesn’t matter how much time passes between books, partly because I re-read and re-listen to the series often, but also because it’s like going back and visiting old friends.

Of course, deep down, every book is about a couple, and it’s a romance without a doubt. But Layla takes the time to bring us back to our old friends, family, and community that were built throughout this series, giving us a solidly built world that we feel like a part of.

When I got into this book, I really couldn’t imagine how Lars and Joss would work as a couple. But I also learned never to doubt Layla and her abilities, and she didn’t disappoint. They fit like a glove and brought out the best in each other.

It’s a bit of an opposites attraction romance, but it’s also really Joss who is discovering who she really is as an individual and as a couple. And we can see the “softer” side of Lars under that hard shell.

I’m already looking forward to the next book… I hope it’s my Rhys ? but also read to re-read this book and the whole series… and then listen to it on audio too.

Wild Wicked Obsession is an amazing romantic ride with a pinch of suspense, a pinch of action and all the emotions. We had to wait for Lars for a while, but GIRLS it was worth the wait! Wild Wicked Obsession is well written and moves well with clever jokes and characters to fall in love with. What kind of hero is better than the an OTT alpha grump who’s very cinnamon roll for his girl? none. That’s the answer, no, lol.

Super handsome, protective and considerate, Lars is everything Joss (and we) want and need from him. Joss suits him perfectly: on the quieter side but with a bit of sarcasm and definitely not a pushover. The chemistry between them was ??? and the smexy steamy times! I absolutely loved this addition to the Hyde series. I really can’t wait to see what Layla does next!

Wild Wicked Obsession is the fifth book in the Hyde series and can be read on its own but is most enjoyable when read in order. The book is written in first person from a double perspective.

Wild Wicked Obsession book is another winner from one of my favorite authors. I loved everything about the Joss and Lars story. Joss is a cute but fun kindergarten teacher who takes a part-time job at Sweets You Rock Bakery to make ends meet. And the complete opposite is Lars, a strip club owner who’s seen as this cranky, OTT, bada$$ alpha. As different as they are, these two secretly long for each other. They all had their own reasons for not moving, but for one, with a little help from friends, they threw out their reservations and off we went!

There is so much good in Wild Wicked Obsession book. I loved seeing the possessiveness and obsession that Lars exudes, but also what Joss aptly pointed out is also “a secret cinnamon roll”. We also get a bit of drama from both sides and appearances from previous favorites. I really couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. This was a very fantastic read and I look forward to more!
