I really enjoyed digging into this side of Cadean (Dark Wolf God) and Samantha’s story. If you are a fan of the MAGIC SIDE: Wolf Bound series, you will love this one! WOLF GOD (Ruthless Gods: Book 1) picks up right where we left off in SHADOW KISSED: Samantha tries to pick up the pieces of her life after being killed, returned to the land of the living, and then left to see as her home. . , Dockside, being destroyed by the Dark Wolf God.

I won’t give away the merchandise, but what we find out is that he is just as broken and tortured as she is. I chose for these two enemies to become lovers, but in true Veronica Douglas fashion… we’re not getting this HEA right away. These two have a lot to do and a long way to go to get there. In the meantime, here are some things you can expect from Wolf God:

• Incredible and vivid world building that forces you to immerse yourself in your imagination as you immerse yourself in the story.
• Minor characters that make you laugh, that you can identify with and sometimes want to strangle. Some of my favorites were Melanthe (mischievous sorceress), Cass (wild vampire), and Rune (my favorite little goblin).

• Spices and lots of heat! I’d give this spice a 3.5 (on a scale of 1-5), although I expect it to rise to a 4 or 5 by the end of the series, so… get ready!
• Oh, the tormented villain with a good heart always catches me! This is no different: Cadean will probably be your next reading buddy… I dare not like him!
• Secrets, mysteries and hidden plans, and LOTS of family drama.

There are so many things I could say about this book! Pick up right where Shadow Kissed left off. We follow Samantha to the town where she grew up. We learn a bit more about them and we also learn that the wolf god has been watching them.

After the injury she inflicted on Cadean (Wolf God), he becomes obsessed with taking her back to the Dreamlands to heal the curse she unknowingly placed on him. Poor Sam discovers that all is not what it seems when she is “kidnapped” from her and taken prisoner by Cadean. Learn more about who he is and what he can do. As the book progresses you can feel the sexual tension between the two.

She begins to fall in love with him, but she refuses to let him. She fights alongside him to save a village of shapeshifters, begins to make friends, and begins to think that she might be able to help the humans during the war between Cadean and the fairies. Cadean wants to trade her for her, but after millennia of suffering, he finds it harder.

She realizes that she turns things around for him, unfortunately it’s too late after Sam overhears a conversation between Cadean and her 3 closest advisors. She finds a way to escape after drugging and curing him. Meanwhile, Cadean’s brother manipulates the situation and fuels Sam’s mistrust of Cadean. She trusts him and believes that he will help her.
Is her help genuine or is she up to no good?

This book was a must, I couldn’t put it down, I lost the dream book! 5 stars, 10/10, A+ or whatever other rating system you choose to use! I can’t wait for the next 2 books. I’ll swing in the corner and wait for her.
