Coexisting but conflicting needs lead to self-sabotaging behavior. That’s why we resist efforts at change, often until they feel utterly useless.
But by extracting vital information from our most harmful habits, developing emotional intelligence through a better understanding of our brain and body, letting go of past experiences at the cellular level, and learning to act as our highest possible future selves, we can come out of our own way and in our potential.
For centuries, the mountain has been used as a metaphor for the great challenges we face, especially those that seem insurmountable. In fact, to climb our mountains, we must do the deep inner work of digging up trauma, building resilience, and adjusting the way we present ourselves for the climb. In the end, we don’t rule the mountain, we rule ourselves.

This book is fantastic! Well written, Brianna communicates concepts, ideas and logic beautifully!. Brianna doesn’t just define EVERY term, then give examples and then give step-by-step examples of how to change a behavior and turn it into a positive one with a healing perspective.
Emotional intelligence is beautifully explained and broken down so anyone can understand who is new to self help/improvement books. This is NOT my first self-help/motivational book summary. This is on par with the best as it is exactly that! My book club met last night and we ALL agreed that our meeting for the next few weeks will focus specifically on the first three chapters, sharing examples, ideas and progress before we start digesting the next three chapters.
For the record, our book group consists of people between the ages of 20 and 60 who have been on their path to self-enlightenment for some time. We can all agree that this is a must read and brilliantly designed for any reader to understand no matter what level they are on their way to. Thank you Brianna for such an insightful, wonderful and insightful read.
Written professionally. You can tell the author really knows what he’s talking about. Nice and relevant references. And what really bothers me is the repetition. When writers say something and spend the rest of the chapter repeating it. I didn’t have that problem with this book. please read it You will not regret it
