I had so many moments where I wanted to go, awww… Kiki and Mal were adorable when they hated each other and even more adorable when they were in love. This whole book gave me a modern and different vibe of the world without the black varsity.

I liked all the other characters and their backstories. There was development, drama, and romance were on point.

Mal is the perfect book lover, he loved him, m, his honesty, his swooning moments

I’ve been following Bolu Babalola on Twitter for a while now. This book is clearly written in its mix of references to multinational pop culture and love of romance. Aptly titled, the romance in this book is sweet without being too syrupy and a bit spicy – we never quite got to the point of completion, but I have no doubt the author would be if he decided to be well crafted to go down this path in the future. .

All in all, this is the book to make you feel good about gifting to the younger people (15+) in your life without sacrificing your AA Rep, the cool guys in their life. And neither is it too chaste and modern for us aunts to enjoy.

This needs to be filmed and I’m sure Hello Sunshine already has the rights.

This is how modern women’s movies should and will look.

Bringing back a genre that has been (reasonably) maligned as being based on a constant fear of pleasing men and basing the value of women on their marital status and/or their attractiveness to men.

This is a romance novel that also highlights sisterhood, female evil(?) and personal integrity in a whirlwind and highly seductive romance.

It’s worth a read, but even more worth a bowl of popcorn.
