Murder Spoils the Fair is the eighth book in the Dodo Dorchester mystery series. Might still be my favorite! The story takes place in London at the British Empire Fair in 1924. It’s evident that in each book, Ann Sutton does her research to pull together a little bit of history in such detail that you feel like you can picture it all as she sees it as she writes.
The main character, Lady Dorothea Dorchester (Dodo), is very capable. Despite being born into the aristocracy of England, she is intelligent, funny and quite compassionate. What would Scotland Yard be without Dodo’s hobby of solving crimes? If you like historical fiction, mystery and beautifully developed characters, then this is the series for you! Can’t wait to see what creative mind Ann Sutton has in store for our heroine, Dodo!
