Kiersten has blown it out of the park once again with this latest psychological thriller and I’m still shaking my head and muttering to myself “what a twisted story!” I find nothing more revealing than a book about a cheater…as they say, “once a cheater, always a cheater”. But as I read the chapters, I started to wonder if Edith is just some crazy person making up the things that she thinks are happening. I started to think exactly that as she immersed me in her insecurities.
Her husband Joe is so believable and I really couldn’t imagine this master of manners being loyal to his wife. After all, he takes care of his older patients half the week and what con man would have the time and even cheat? Add in her gay best friend and I started to wonder if we knew all about best friend Dan…he seemed hell-bent on leading Edith into a quick breakup with her allegedly cheating husband of hers, so what was real? Let’s go?
This book made me guess, and guess twice, and then guess again. Kiersten’s signature twist on this story literally made me stop reading because he wasn’t sure what he had just read. I loved this book! It had everything I love about Kiersten’s books and then some. One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a long time, and that’s saying a lot! READ THIS BOOK!
