I will recommend this book to everyone! I can’t tell you how much I loved this love story, and not just the Ryker and Kit love story.

This book officially ruined me. Two days later, I still have tears in my eyes thinking about it. This book broke that and I was a bubbly mess and threw out my Kindle.
Other than that, Kit and Ryker’s relationship was absolutely perfect and adorable. Ryker’s best friend is Carter, Kit’s brother. The three of them grew up together and were inseparable until they got older and in high school and Ryker broke up and disappeared without a trace. Carter, the overprotective older brother, didn’t want anyone to touch his sister, especially because of her chronic health problems.
After a health crisis, Kit needed a babysitter. Ryker came to stay with Kit. The animosity between them ran strong, despite the sexual tension that had been palpable since she started the book when Kit was 14 years old. Kit’s strength to endure whatever comes her way with her life and her heart is amazing and admirable. I loved everything about her. Ryker, so damn passed out. ? The ultimate protector of her loved ones and will do anything to protect them.
It was perfect to see the love between Kit and Ryker grow and the heartbreak heal. The titles they needed and ended up getting was like a fucking nail through the heart, but it was the only way they could go on. I do not say lightly that this book is difficult and that it will certainly touch hearts, but the love between them is one of my favorites to read for a while.
This book is one that will stay with me for a long time.
Kit fell in love with her brother’s best friend, Ryker, when she was 14 and he was 16 and never looked back. Raised in a poor family background, Ryker was always raised by Carter (Kit’s brother) and Kit. They were the two people he depended on and he spent more time with than anyone else.
From age 16 to 18, we see Ryker grow up and get on the right track so he can graduate, go to college, and start a new life for himself. All that changes in one night. Ryker leaves one night and never returns. Kit never hears from him again and her heart breaks.
Two years later, Ryker finally returns home, but Kit isn’t that thrilled to see him after leaving her without a word for so long. Ryker has to take care of Kit while Carter and Gerald (Carter and Kit’s father) go on a business trip for a week.
This week changes everything until then. Can they get past Ryker and get away? Will Kit get the answers he’s desperately needed for years? Will Kit be able to keep her pent-up feelings to herself and never fall head over heels for Ryker again?
There are so many things I could say about this book, but I don’t want to spoil anything. The ending of this book is absolutely heartbreaking and absolutely accurate to losing more than a few years. Throughout the book we learn all about love, family and friendships. Fortunately, the book ends on a happy note after his heart was ripped out and stepped on.
