Wrong Bones is Widow’s Island #10 – a series of novellas: 5 by Melinda Leigh and 5 by Kendra Elliot (who are not the same author, just partners in the Widow’s Island series). This book is owned by the prolific and hugely popular Melinda Leigh.

In this episode, Tessa Black is the sheriff’s deputy on this somewhat remote island that’s part of the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state (an apparently not-so-reliable ferry service caters to residents), and her fiancé is Logan Wilder, the ranger, assigned to Widow’s Island and a standard member of Tessa’s law enforcement team.

One night, alarmed by a group of unruly kids having fun with flashlights, Tessa comes across someone digging an already occupied new grave where the earth is looser and trying to bury something. she hunts; The perpetrator drops the box. Despite the island’s limited resources, Tessa, Logan, and the local doctor discover that these could be the bones of a missing girl. But who tried to bury her and why didn’t they throw her into the strait?

This is an action-packed process with strong and likeable main characters and an original plot. I hadn’t read any of the previous Widow’s Island books (they’re on my TBR now!), but this novel worked well as a stand-alone book. A great book for those days when you want to get something done fairly quickly and be entertained satisfactorily! !

This is the tenth novel in the Widow Island series and I love how these two authors pass the baton, Tessa and Cate tell their own stories and they flow seamlessly into each other. This is such a captivating story that you will be swept up in it, if you get into this story you need to know everything. This will keep you hooked no matter how crazy the story gets. Don’t miss this amazing series.

The Wrong Bones is the tenth and apparently final novel in the Widow’s Island series. I have enjoyed each of these novels and will definitely miss these characters.

Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot were able to weave such beautiful world building and character development into such short works and it is an absolute testament to their talent as writers.

The Wrong Bones is a good final chapter, but I really hope we get to visit this beautiful world that Leigh and Elliot put in a box 🙂

I recommend that you read the novels in order, but I’m sure you’ll devour them all very quickly.

I really liked the character Patience. The Wrong Bones is an engaging, quick read and a good introduction to the series and Melinda Leigh’s characters if she hasn’t read those books yet.

The story grabs your attention from the start and continues with fast-paced action, strong characters, and a great atmosphere. Melinda Leigh fans will enjoy this novel. He has a captivating writing style.

Deputy Tessa Black sees someone trying to bury bones in a graveyard. Who is trying to bury the bones, why and who owns the bones? This is a good story with a lot of suspense, I just wish it was longer. It is part of the Widows Island series written by Kendra and Melinda, but can also be read as a stand-alone book.
