This is the second book in the Hellions of Halstead Hall series, and while you probably don’t need to read the first (The Truth About Lord Stoneville) before reading this one, I think it will help with Sharpe’s backstory. family and the ongoing storyline of his parents’ deaths if you read them in order. The book that follows this is How to Court a Reluctant Lady.
I love Sabrina Jeffries and while I really enjoyed this book and the romance, it didn’t blow me the way I wanted it to. That being said, both Jarrett and Annabel are great characters and I really enjoyed their scenes together and encouraged them to work things out. They had good chemistry and there were some good sexy moments throughout the story. The plot was interesting and never got bogged down in beer terminology. I wish Annabel’s “secret” hadn’t overshadowed the last few parts of the book, but I still got a good, romantic ending, which is always a good thing.
If you are a fan of Sabrina Jeffries, are reading the Hellions of Halstead Hall series, or just want to read an engaging and captivating love story, I would definitely recommend this one.
