Colleen Hoover (Margaret Colleen Fennell) (born in December 11, year 1979) is an author of young adult fiction and romance.

In January 2012 she published her first novel Slammed. In December 2012, she published Hopeless, which topped the New York Times bestseller list. Many of her works were self-published before being picked up by a publisher.

Hoover was born on December 11, 1979, in Sulfur Springs, Texas, the son of Vannoy Fite and Eddie Fennell. She grew up in the Saltillo, Texas and graduated from the Saltillo High School in year 1998. In 2000 she married Heath Hoover, with whom she has three children. Hoover has a degree in Social Work from Texas A&M-Commerce. She worked in various teaching and social work positions before beginning her writing career.

In November year 2011, Hoover began her first novel, Slammed, with zero intention of publishing it. She was inspired by a songs lyric “decide what to be and go be it” from an Avett Brothers song, and “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise”. Because of this, she included the Avett Brothers lyrics throughout the story. After a few months, her novel was reviewed by book blogger Maryse Black and she was given a 5-star rating, and sales of her first two books increased rapidly.

Hoover published her first novel, Slammed, in January 2012 and a sequel, Point of Retreat, in February. They reached #8 and #18 on the New York Times bestseller list in August of that year. Atria Books picked them up and re-released them on August 10. A third book in the series, This Girl, was released in April 2013.

I had decided a while ago to take a break from novels. It seemed that all the authors there published short supplements to their series and even stand-alone books for a while. It just has to be too much for me. And while I love Colleen Hoover’s books, I thought I’d skip Finding Perfect. Until my friend Lacy mentioned that she read it and cried ugly. So I picked it up.

I mean, I really didn’t expect to get much out of it since I basically knew that Quinn and Graham from All Your Perfects had adopted Six and Daniel’s baby. What else could there be to reveal? And there really aren’t any new or major reveals in Finding Perfect. But it’s really about the process. Trip. Isn’t that the main point of a good story anyway?

In my opinion, Daniel and Six have a strange relationship. You even mention that you don’t talk about deep things. Still, they claim to be a super couple in many ways. Okay, you’ve been through a lot together and you still have a lot to process.

Personally, I didn’t cry while reading Finding Perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed this journey. Wrapping up Daniel and Six’s story was something I didn’t even know I needed.

SPOILERS: I have to admit I only bought this book to wrap up Quinn and Graham. Your book (All Your Perfects) completely ruined me. The book ended on a happy note, but finally getting confirmation that Quinn could be a mother made me very happy. Your email to Six and Daniel made me cry.

I was also very happy for Six and Daniel. I can’t imagine the pain Six felt and loved Daniel so much for doing whatever it took to get the answers from him. I was also very appreciative of the opportunity it gave Quinn and Graham because I felt so insecure after their book. six gave them
an absolutely priceless gift. I know these are made
characters, but their stories touched me deeply.

Regardless, I was so happy with the outcome for both couples. I’m only giving it four stars because I find nine bucks for a ridiculous e-book novella. But… at least I finally got the ending I wanted.
