My thoughts: In Good Girl, Bad Girl, we are immediately drawn into a double plot. A girl has been murdered and Cyrus Haven is assigned to help the police solve the case. Meanwhile, a social worker at a maximum security children’s home in Nottingham enlists Cyrus’s help in working with a girl named Evie Cormac, whose identity has never been revealed. She was found under mysterious circumstances. Was she held captive, or was there something else going on with the man who was believed to be her kidnapper?
Alternate narrators tell the story, and as more details emerge, we try to unravel the mystery of who murdered figure skater named Jodie Sheehan. The most obvious culprit seems less likely as more mysteries and lies are soon added to the growing list of questions about who did what to whom.
Evie’s connection with Cyrus creates a bond that will captivate us at all times. Until the final reveals, I quickly flipped through the pages as I rooted for both Cyrus and Evie.
