Colleen Hoover (Margaret Colleen Fennell) (born in December 11, year 1979) is an author of young adult fiction and romance.

In January 2012 she published her first novel Slammed. In December 2012, she published Hopeless, which topped the New York Times bestseller list. Many of her works were self-published before being picked up by a publisher.

Hoover was born on December 11, 1979, in Sulfur Springs, Texas, the son of Vannoy Fite and Eddie Fennell. She grew up in the Saltillo, Texas and graduated from the Saltillo High School in year 1998. In 2000 she married Heath Hoover, with whom she has three children. Hoover has a degree in Social Work from Texas A&M-Commerce. She worked in various teaching and social work positions before beginning her writing career.

In November year 2011, Hoover began her first novel, Slammed, with zero intention of publishing it. She was inspired by a songs lyric “decide what to be and go be it” from an Avett Brothers song, and “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise”. Because of this, she included the Avett Brothers lyrics throughout the story. After a few months, her novel was reviewed by book blogger Maryse Black and she was given a 5-star rating, and sales of her first two books increased rapidly.

Hoover published her first novel, Slammed, in January 2012 and a sequel, Point of Retreat, in February. They reached #8 and #18 on the New York Times bestseller list in August of that year. Atria Books picked them up and re-released them on August 10. A third book in the series, This Girl, was released in April 2013.

Maybe Someday was a book I knew I would love even before I started reading it. The synopsis sounded amazing, and it’s a book by Colleen Hoover, so I knew it was going to be amazing. But I didn’t expect it to be as amazing as it was, and it’s definitely become my favorite Colleen book to date.

22-year-old Sydney Blake has a great life. She’s in college, has a wonderful boyfriend, and shares an apartment with her friend Tori. She also began befriending her mystery neighbor, Ridge. God. This book was just… perfection. To be honest, it’s very difficult for me to write what I felt about this book because I loved it so much. It’s hard to put into words. Someday is perhaps the most emotional book I have ever read. I cried seriously from the middle of this book to the end.

He loved Sydney. Basically, her world collapsed, but she manages to stay strong. Sydney is a perfect match for Warren & Ridge, and she joins in on each other’s pranks. Sydney is such a likable character. He is strong and was an easy character to bond with. I just admired her.

I honestly fell in love with Ridge right away. He is a sweet and lovely boy. And then when Sydney moved into the Ridge apartment and we found out more about him, I fell in love with him even more. Ridge always tries to do the right thing and his heart also is always in the right place. He cares about everyone and is an amazing character.

I can honestly say I never had any idea the twist Hoover laid on me in just a couple of chapters, but it was an amazing addition to the story and I honestly don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much without it would have enjoyed. turn. It added just another layer to the story. I was immediately drawn into Hoover and got completely lost in this story.

I loved learning more about Ridge and his roommate Warren (who was so funny and had an amazing character), loved learning more about Sydney and loved the music. Music is a big part of this book; I mean, Griffin Peterson even recorded the songs that Hoover had in the book (which I didn’t find out about until I was done). Ridge writes music for the band his brother is in, loses his muse, notices Sydney playing his guitar, persuades her to write lyrics for him and their bond started there.

Ridge and Sydney’s relationship was complicated. Ridge had a longtime friend named Maggie who wasn’t around when the book started because she was in college, but Ridge and Sydney connected from the first moment of their interaction and it was agony to see them together. I was very supportive of Ridge and Syd, but I didn’t want to break Maggie’s heart because I actually loved her too. It was a complicated, messy, heartbreaking relationship, but I loved every second of it.

The ending brought me to tears and I was so happy. Yes it was a bit sad but my happiness completely overshadowed my sadness because it was such a perfect and amazing ending.

All in all, Maybe Someday has been my favorite Colleen Hoover book so far, and I think it’ll be hard to top. With that fantastic twist, a couple with strong chemistry and the music, Colleen Hoover did a fantastic job and I loved everything about this book.
