This book is set in the same world as The Boys of Briar Hall series and although this series has different characters you might like it better if you read Boys of Briar Hall first as Becca will be introduced there and we will learn quite a bit about her . .
Becca moved to Southern California against her father’s wishes, but despite being cut off from her financially healthy lifestyle, she is determined to fight back. Finding a place to live, finding a job, etc. She is willing to leave behind as much of her horrific past as she can. But when two dangerously attractive men enter her life, it may not be as easy as she thought.

Hardin and Kaleb St. Vincent are the kings of the city. Everyone knows not to cross them. They have been asked to keep a calm watch on Becca and make sure she stays safe. But keeping your distance seems unimaginable. Not only do they have turf troubles from a new gang invading their turf, but now they’re both consumed with thoughts of Becca. In the face of a turf war, can they protect her from the life she’s trying to escape?
I devoured this book. It grabbed me from the start and I couldn’t put it down. It made me laugh, clench my teeth, and then beg for more. i love these characters. While seemingly reticent, Becca was also quite feisty when it came to Kaleb and Hardin. Kaleb, always the playboy, wasn’t ready for Becca. Well, I don’t think any of our St. Vincent boys did it. I love Kaleb’s fun and outgoing personality but still being able to be serious when needed.
Hardin was always stony and brooding, but I enjoyed watching Becca begin to bring out a different side of him, but I can see his possessive obsession growing. There’s definitely a story the boys have that’s only mentioned in this book and I’m curious about its backstory, as is Becca’s, although you’ll know more about their past if you read Boys of Briar Hall. They set us off at the end with a big secret that I started speculating about about halfway through the book, but I’m so excited to see how it all plays out.
