A masquerade ball brings together an NFL player and a penniless princess in this smart and sexy romance from Wall Street Journal author Ilsa Madden-Mills.

Sensible Francesca Lane never thought she would miss out on her own wedding. But when her fiancé cheats on her, she changes into her wedding dress and leaves the altar for a masquerade ball at an exclusive lifestyle club.

There she meets the unknown NFL star, Tuck Avery, who is dressed as a prince and hides behind a mask: he is there to celebrate his birthday. For one night, Francesca and Tuck indulge in a diabolical undercover adventure. No names. No chains. And the masks don’t fall off.

Unfortunately, Francesca quickly realizes that her masked prince is the rich athlete who lives in the penthouse of her apartment building. Her hobbies include parties and supermodels, at least that’s what the tabloids say. Tangling up with a shallow jerk is the last thing Francesca needs right now, so she promises to keep Tuck from recognizing her (not that she’s her type anyway).

But fate has a little trick up its sleeve… a plus sign on a pregnancy test. Can this tormented prince accept love or will he reject the princess from him forever?

NFL player Tuck Avery is at a crossroads in his career and life. Burned by love too many times, this is a man in public who has no faith in women. He is simply too familiar with background checks and NDA contracts, and also throws up a difficult past that he wants to keep in the past. A night out with the boys is just what he really needs.

Francesca Lane couldn’t be more opposite of Tuck, she has no idea of her background due to her being abandoned as a baby, but they instantly bond on a fancy dress night at a “racy club” for what it should be. one night. Affair.
The stars have aligned and fate takes over. Now that she realizes that they both live in the same block of flats and continue to see each other, they get closer every day.

Love really comes when we least expect it and also I really loved every aspect of the Tuck and Francesca’s relationship. The closer they got, the more my feelings got involved. The friends of both had a great time, the family messes were heartbreaking.
They both had trust issues that could obviously blow up in their faces at any moment and I had such a hard time putting this book down, I was so scared I was going to lose it!!!

Of course, we also have twists and turns that will make your emotions run high, you just never know what will happen.
I loved this story from start to finish, I was just sorry it had to end, I could have stayed in their world with them for a long time!
If you want a book with characters to love and possess your heart, this is the book for you!

The Princess And The Player was another addictive, hilarious, swoon-worthy romance from Ilsa Madden Mills.

Tuck and Francesca meet at a masquerade ball and spend an unforgettable night with no strings attached, no name, and no regrets.

I’ve loved Tuck ever since I met him on Beauty and the Baller, so it was good to know more about him. Tuck seems very confident, but he has a troubled past that haunts him, so he has trust and bonding issues.

Francesca was a great girl who cares about others. She also had a difficult past and had to deal with her own problems.

Tuck and Francesca had great chemistry from the beginning that developed into a deep connection between them, they were meant to be together and I loved their journey.

Once again, this author has delivered a fun, flirty, and deliciously dirty romance that is sure to put a smile on your face.

I really hope Jasper gets the book from him, he really drove me crazy.

This is one of those books that starts with a series of crazy events leading up to Tuck and Francesca. I was really looking forward to hearing Tuck’s story and I really enjoyed it. I liked the aspect that there are no strings attached and no names, but when things come together it adds to the drama of the story. Especially when that positive line appears. To be honest, I really liked that aspect of the story!
I enjoyed knowing that there is much more to Tuck than what the tabloids are making out.

My heart ached for Francesca and the story. Together these two are pure magic and it’s good to see how things developed between them. There is a lot of wit and banter between all the characters, not just the two main characters. The supporting characters add so much depth to this story that you get immersed in a big world that Madden-Mills created for us with this story.

Once I started this story, I couldn’t stop. The Princess And The Player is a gripping, funny and emotional story and it had me hooked from the moment Tuck and Francesca met.

Tuck and Francesca meet one night at an adults-only club where masks stay on and fantasies come true. The two do not agree on names and kisses and spend an incredible night together. But when they meet again weeks later, despite wearing masks, they find out who the other is almost immediately. Fate intervenes in other surprising ways.

From the first moment you could feel the chemistry between Tuck and Francesca. They didn’t have the most common first meeting, but it was perfect for her. Tuck is caring and has a big heart, despite fighting some pretty tough childhood demons. I really admired his vulnerability when he let the Francesca in. Francesca was my immediate favourite.

She’s smart, independent and she knows her worth. She, too, had a rough childhood and was able to connect with Tuck on another level. I didn’t expect to go through all the emotions while reading this story and loved every moment of it. Supporting characters Jasper, Cece, Brogan, and Darden were amazing additions to the story and made the family feel like they were both highly sought after. This story is very complete and will definitely be on my reread list.

Ilsa Madden-Mills never disappoints and her latest novel The Princess And The Player has kept me up late because she’s so good. The Princess And The Player is the second novel in Ilsa’s Strangers in Love series and I was very excited to receive Tuck’s story. Tuck is a super famous NFL superstar and when he goes to a costume party he loves that the women who caught his eye that night have no idea who he is.

The problem is that he can’t get her out of his head and he has no idea who he is! The masked lady is Francesca, a super-talented artist who finds herself at a professional crossroads and didn’t expect to run into a handsome stranger at a party. I was totally stuck at this point and I love what Ilsa had in mind for these two!

The Princess And The Player addictive read has everything I love about a great romance novel: sweet, gripping, edgy, and terrifying! The plot was perfectly timed – I loved it so much I read the entire book in record time! The cast of characters was incredibly endearing! I love when the main and supporting characters are memorable and Ilsa Madden-Mills blew it away in this novel! The Princess And The Player is a 5 star read that I highly recommend. Fingers crossed for many more parts to this fantastic series!

The Princess And The Player was fantastic, I couldn’t put it down! It was cute and funny and super sexy, but there was an undercurrent of pain and emotion in these characters that made me root for them. I loved that!

Francesca and Tuck were characters of heartbreaking beauty. I loved learning about her painful past and letting her open up and share. Francesca was amazing. She was not a woman who needed to be saved, but she could save herself. I loved the family she formed and how she made the best of things. Tuck had my heart from the start. I felt sorry for him because of his life situation and his past. I loved seeing the man behind the smile he showed everyone.

The chemistry between Tuck and Francesca was off the charts, I loved the desire and need between them. Their relationship was kind of a roller coaster and I was a part of it. There was a good mix of funny jokes and hilarious moments, as well as some incredibly emotional and raw moments. Great details were woven together for both of them when they met and really bonded.

I loved Francesca’s friends and how they supported me. They have contributed to many humorous scenes with their sarcastic and light-hearted barbs. I really liked Tuck’s friend Jasper. He seemed a bit wild, but he cared wholeheartedly and was incredibly sweet. I loved a side story that took place around Francesca and I loved how it was integrated into the story. It was a great thing!

The Princess And The Player was a truly wonderful story with an incredible structure. I cheered for Tuck and Francesca, laughed with them and got mad at them. Even more so with Francesca, I understood her reasons and I couldn’t wait for the time when everything would work out. The wait was worth it! These people hurt and had scars, but I loved that they found each other in such a fun way. This has been a sincere journey of hope, acceptance and love. I loved that!
