Adriana knocked it out of the park with the story of Palmer and Cole (pun intended). I’m a big fan of Adriana’s writing style and I fell in love with it. I don’t usually cry when I read, but I had to stop reading at work because I cried at the end of the book. Palmer is a single mom with a terrible dating history trying to raise her 12-year-old son properly. Cole is a recently retired baseball star who came to town to visit his parents. Palmer is searching forever, and Cole doesn’t even know what he’s going to do with his life for the next few months, let alone forever.
I loved Palmer’s wit, cheekiness and sarcasm. She is definitely my spirit animal. Cole is that fine specimen that literally walked off the ball field and into my heart. However, her bond with Ethan sealed the deal for me. Watching Ethan light up under his praise was really beautiful. Smart beyond his years, Ethan loved his mother beyond measure.
The story of Palmer and Cole showed you that you cannot fight fate. Sometimes people walk into your life just when they should and show you that your dreams aren’t that far-fetched. That you’d rather walk through fire with the right person than live on the beach without them. I loved, I loved, I loved this book!!!!
