Tahereh Mafi (born November 9, year 1988) is an American author from Santa Monica, California. She is known for writing young adult novels.

Mafi was born on November 9, year 1988 in a small town in the Connecticut. She is the youngest daughter in her family and has four older brothers. Mafi’s parents are immigrants from Iran. When she was 12 years old, she moved to Northern California with her family and at 14 they moved to Orange County.

Mafi graduated from the University High School in Irvine, California. She later graduated from the Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California. She has varying levels of proficiency in eight different languages. She did a semester abroad at the University of Barcelona, ​​Spain. In April 2017, Mafi announced another trilogy set in the Shatter Me universe, following the same cast of characters. Mafi’s next book, A Very Large Expanse of Sea, was published on October 16, 2018. It was nominated for the 2018 National Book Award for Young Adult Literature.

Mafi currently resides in the Irvine, California, where she continues to write. she is Muslim. In 2013 she married author Ransom Riggs. In March 2017, Mafi announced via her Twitter that she was pregnant. She gave birth to a daughter, Layla, on May 30, 2017.

Words cannot describe how much I love this series. And his new issue, Unravel Me, ROCKED. I wish I was a professional book reviewer so I could do Unravel Me justice. But since I’m not a professional author, this amateurish review will have to suffice.

Warner, Warner, Warner… you’ll learn a lot about him in Destroy Me, but you’ll really fall in love with him in Unravel Me. The abuse he suffered at the hands of his father is despicable. And you will meet his father and despise him. We see so many shades of Warner and his love for Juliette and who she really is in this book. I love Warner and Juliette’s relationship in this book. They become friends somehow and she sees the good in him and tries her best to encourage him. And here’s a delicious spoiler: SPOILERS :

There’s an incredibly steamy, passionate one , fiery near-effect sex scene between Warner and Juliette. END OF SPOILERS. I really loved Adam in Shatter Me. Not in a fangirl way, just that he’s so cool with Juliette and such a cool guy. Well, I’m 75% Team Warner. And depending on how Adam is in the last book, I can be 100% Team Warner. And depending on the choices she makes in the next book, I could be an absolute fan of his!

Kenji is an amazing character in this book! He’s funny, loyal, brave and kind. A good friend. There were a few sad moments for me that Juliette had and Kenji refused to let her sulk because he felt so self-pitying and self-absorbed. He really forced her to act together, to stop whining and to realize that she was surrounded by people who were also “freaks”.

I adored Juliette in Shatter Me but at first I thought I wouldn’t particularly like her in this book because she shits my life blah blah blah that thing was getting really annoying but Kenji urged her to get over it , and I liked her again.

Juliette has many internal conflicts in this book. I like her a lot and was worried I wouldn’t like her very much (because Shatter Me made her one of my favorite female characters of all time), but I was happy with Juliette in this story. And wow, what a love triangle she’s in.

Also a very successful one. Not like one of those sad love triangles where you already know who you’re going to end up with or everything is so cheesy. No: Adam/Juliette/Warner is fantastic. And Juliette really changed her mind about Warner: she’s so attracted to him (SPOILER: they have a quasi-sexual make-out session that was way better than any erotic scene with her and Adam). END OF SPOILERS. The way the series ended left a pretty shaky idea of ​​who Juliette will become.

She said she was “done” with being nice and being scared. I’m a little worried because I love his kindness and sweetness and I don’t want him to lose that.

The writing is incredibly beautiful. You can feel Juliette’s pain, sadness, lust, anger, fear… Tahereh Mafi is an amazing writer.

SENSUAL CONTENT: There is no sex in this book, but there are several very hot, frantic scenes with hormones and lots of sexual tension starring Adam/Juliette and Warner/Juliette.
