When Detective Josie Quinn arrives with her partner Noah for dinner at their family’s immaculate country home, she is devastated to find Noah’s mother, Colette, lifeless in the backyard, her mouth clogged with filth.

Searching the house for the answers, Josie’s team really doesn’t know what to do with the rosary beads buried into the dirt near the body, or the hidden file that says “Drew Pratt,” the most famous missing person in the town of the Denton.

As she digs into the Pratt case, Josie quickly discovers that she had a brother whose body was mysteriously dumped on the banks of a river. There is also a diary entry that suggests Colette may have met him the last day he was seen alive. Can Josie believe the unthinkable that a kind soul like Colette could be implicated in her murders? And will Josie’s new relationship with Noah survive the charges?

Josie’s only hope is to locate Pratt’s daughter. But when she arrives at her house and discovers that she was murdered just minutes before, Josie knows the real killer is one step ahead and she won’t stop until Colette’s secret is buried forever. With so many more innocent lives at stake, how deep is Josie willing to dig to find the truth?

The Bones She Buried is the 5 book in the series Detective Josie Quinn. I am very happy to have continued with this series. Josie Quinn is a character that rarely develops the way I expect. She takes one step forward and two steps back. Something about this detective makes me happy with her; That’s why I keep reading. She has a sad story that affects her private life. On the other hand, Josie is an excellent detective with loyal employees. Work is the only area where she works without hesitation or thought.

In The Bones She Buried, Lisa Regan has Detective Quinn find out who killed Noah’s mother. Noah and Josie are invited to dinner and find their mother murdered. The murder investigation uncovers secrets that Collette had kept hidden for many years. As she ages and dementia confuses the past with the present, the people who need the secrets to stay secret come out of nowhere.

The investigation tests Josie and Noah’s new relationship. The fact that her family isn’t too crazy about Josie adds to their conflict. Her emotional pain pits him against her friends, including Josie. Her family has a grudge against Josie dating back to the first book. Her negativity makes it difficult for Josie to comfort Noah.

Lisa Regan weaves an excellent story of suspense, multidimensional characters, and mysteries to show how people can sabotage their relationships. There are opposing forces, both criminal and personal, that leave the reader wondering how things will work out. The tension of Josie’s investigation, ongoing character development, and intense relationship conflict keep the pages turning.

I’m just a little bit disappointed in the Josie’s actions, especially towards the end. However, people revert to old behaviors when they are stressed. I kind of understand why she falls off the wagon. What I don’t like is that Mrs. Regan left some questions unanswered and unresolved. A big annoyance for me is when authors leave a question open for the reader to answer. For me it is an unfinished piece. There is a possibility that Ms. Regan will raise the issue in the future.

The plot intrigued me and I was more inclined to spend my time turning the pages and figuring out what happened. Lisa Regan’s books have a simple character that is easy to sink into and have become a good escape from reality, at least for me.

I’m pleased that it has continued the current trend of having a character related to the crime in question. In the last book it was Gretchen and in this book it was Noah. It was interesting to see a grieving Noah and how he handles things, because I had always viewed his character with affection and hope in relation to Josie, and it was both interesting and enlightening to see him act differently.

Josie showed her behavior throughout the book with grace and courage and was curious to see how the two of them dealt with the difficulties and events presented and managed to pull through. I felt like I learned a lot more about the characters without getting a lot more information about them. I felt like I knew them better than through information or descriptions, through their actions and how they interacted with other characters and the scene around them.

Since there are now three books that focus on character-driven events: Her [Josie’s] Mother’s Grave, Her [Gretchen’s] Final Confession, and The Bones She Buried [Noah], I’m interested in that. Let’s see where the sixth is. the book will go

Reading this on the back cover of the fourth book was still fresh in my mind, but other than that, I feel like I’ve spent enough time in this story universe to be well informed of what’s going on with and around the characters. . With every book I read, my imagination grows stronger and my ability to visualize more clearly.

I found this book more compelling than book four. He was more involved in this story and more compelled to find the answers. Regan has a knack for drawing me into both sides of the story. the present and the past, and they draw me into their carefully thought-out plot.

I get a sense of excitement when I start reading any of her books and I am always amazed at the twist and end result. I felt like this book did her job of keeping me curious, surprised, and entertained enough to want to keep reading. The plot is always elaborate and curious in the way it investigates what happened, in language that doesn’t reveal the culprit in advance.
