They have also been friends since childhood. Although no one has any hope of marriage, their paths cross again and again. Evie is a smart and capable woman who is a bit scared which is why she does her job well. Reginald allows his emotions to get in the way of his work. When he teams up with Evie to solve a case, his feelings only grow stronger.
The story is very well written and draws attention at all times. It’s got lots of twists and turns, light-hearted banter and inquisitive moms. There are some supporting characters that are pretty funny. I recommend reading all the books in order, so that you won’t be disappointed. This is clean Regency romance and spy mystery. Apart from that there is the use of guns and daggers and people dying from such encounters. Everything is done discreetly.
