I just finished reading the ARC and was only disappointed when I finished it. It takes place in Mount Chester, a small community of fewer than 4,000 that is home to a ski resort.
FBI agent Dr. Originally from Mount Chester, California, Kay Sharp vowed she would never return; his brother Jacob continues to live there in the family home. However, when Jacob gets into trouble and she returns to check on him, she discovers that Elliot Young of Austin, Texas is now a detective there. She had worked with Elliot on a serial killer case in the past and they seemed to be working, so after much deliberation she decided to leave the FBI and take a position as a detective at Mount Chester.
There were several plots and subplots in Beneath Blackwater River novel and it could easily become confusing if you don’t read carefully. The story begins when a young girl finds her throat cut behind Blackwater Falls. One of the overriding questions, however, is: How was a kidnapping victim from 14 years ago found with her throat cut and in couture attire? Also… the girl is Allisson Caldwell, OR
Is she Rose Harrellson? Detective Sharp finds clues about Both Girls, but also encounters obstacles at every turn.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Detective Sharp tries to protect a woman from an abusive husband who is also a police officer, while Detective Elliotpursues a 15-year-old runaway he fears is in critical danger. Somehow, Wolfe manages to tie all of these plots together in a fantastic way.
Beneath Blackwater River is a good thriller. You must go and read it and add it to your library, you won’t regret it! Remember, “Under Blackwater Falls,” Leslie Wolfe.
