Blind Side was so good I had to take a break between reading sessions. My heart needed to feel the excitement and steam before we fell from the cotton candy cloud and let me tell you Kandi rips your heart out.

Let me tell you, the 80% plot twist still destroys me. Literally. I had to stop reading just to process how Kandi was planning to make it up to Clay and Giana after what she just did. Like, oh my god, no, don’t rush it. He didn’t deserve it and poor Giana.

Of course, this heartbreaking decision had to be made. That’s why we love Kandi’s books. Its characters are strong enough to take on anything that comes their way, they just need a little guidance or spirits from a cold shower to wake them up and do the right thing.

“It’s not fake. Nothing between us was ever fake.”

Heart torn aside, you know if Kandi destroys you, he’ll put you back together.

This is a summer release not to be missed! Trust me.⁣

I always underestimate how much I’m going to love a Kandi Steiner book until I start reading a new one and say, “Oh yeah, why didn’t I think this wouldn’t blow my mind?”

Blind Side takes place in the same world as Fair Catch, but is separate. You don’t have to read Fair Catch to read Blind Side, but it certainly improves your reading experience!

Clay Johnson is the best safety in football. His high school girlfriend just moved across the country to… break up with him? Lost, he turns to Giana Jones, the team’s PR coordinator, to pose as his girlfriend and make her jealous. But what about Giana? Well, he has his eye on a certain singer who plays guitar and performs in cafes and bars around campus. Clay will help her get noticed and Giana will help make Clay’s ex jealous. Sounds easy right?

Of course nothing is easy. From first kisses to movie nights watching documentaries about the sea to gazing at the night sky, these two eventually fall in love.

Giana is the best. She finds her voice throughout the book and I loved seeing her become more confident about who she is at the end.

Clay is just a wonderful and sweet boy. He genuinely wants what’s best for those around him, even if it means hurting him in the process.

Definitely put this one in your TBR if you haven’t already! It is so good!

I’ve spent the last few hours going through my notes for this review because where does one begin when reviewing a brilliant book by Kandi Steiner? I’m still collecting my thoughts so I will miss things and this will most likely end up sounding like gibberish.

Reading Fair Catch, I was convinced Holden would be next and disappointed that he wasn’t. But then Kandi released the blurb and cover for this book and I was hooked. I mean… this man’s eyes and cheekbones. phew Then we put together so many great tropes and, in true Kandi style, she hit my heart straight. I didn’t expect my feelings to be so intense, but here we are.

Fake dating is my kryptonite. It’s a trope I’ll read anytime and has disappointed me many times. And of course, when it’s implemented to get other people’s attention or to make someone realize what they’ve lost or whatever, it annoys me. But I was really won over by the way Kandi built the relationship between Giana and Clay.

It’s Kandi, she can’t go wrong so I put my favorite trope in her hands and they treated me with absolute magic. Speaking of Giana and Clay, oh my god! Something about the awkward, shy, quiet girl and popular athlete who get together and fall in love just touches me. I don’t know what it is but it’s catnip and I loved every minute of it.

Giana and Clay are so wonderful, but before I get into their romance, I want to talk about them for a bit. Giana is a shy, quiet, middle-class girl who likes to live a quiet, unsupervised life, but in college she decided to step out a little and landed a job as PR for the soccer team. And she’s good at what she does. Giana is incredibly loveable and also very relatable. Aren’t we all addicted to the hot musician at our favorite hangout? Then there’s Clay.

I love that while he’s everyone’s favorite football player and he’s a stud and women love him, he was incredibly loyal to his girlfriend for many years (until she broke his heart) and even after that he didn’t sleep with random women . . He has all the makings of a hot and popular athlete but has so much more to offer. And the fact that he has such a big heart, loves his friends and puts everyone first makes you love him even more!

Your relationship? I think this requires a complete overhaul. They already have that working relationship/connection that has turned into friendship, and that’s how all the desires and feelings start to grow. It’s such a natural progression as their relationship develops and I’ve loved every minute of it. Their physical relationship is… oof, Kandi gave it his all. There are lessons! Clay is teaching Giana to learn about himself and him in the process and it’s beautiful.

Also twist praise! I didn’t know I liked this, but here we are. I really enjoyed all the times they “studied together” because it really showed growth for both characters. And not left behind, THE CONSENT IN THIS BOOK. Only kiss from the chef But do you know what I liked the most? Yes, the vapor was steamy and beautiful. But it was how deeply these characters knew each other and were there for each other through thick and thin. That was really special.

I love this circle of friends very much. Riley, Zeke and Holden brought their amazing personalities to this story. Riley was particularly brilliant with Giana and their bond, I want more! Holden remains my favorite of these guys, and the way he continued to intervene and control Clay throughout the book got my heart pumping. I just wanted the more of Holden all the time! And now he’s finally getting his book and I can’t wait.

This book just has romance, lots of humor, lots of friendship and hard-to-digest passages, some jealousy and “hurt her and I’ll kill you” vibes, lots of soccer, emotions and feelings. . Blind Side is everything you’d expect from Kandi Steiner, but with so much more. It’s as if their mission is to go even further and offer us something so spectacular that we would have no more desires. And I am. Desperate.
