This book has all the scenes of heartbreak and steam. Zack is openly fond of Layla and isn’t afraid to hide the fact that he’s attracted to her. Luke knows he feels something, but he also knows it’s totally inappropriate. Josh tries desperately to hide his feelings. This book goes to great lengths to show the difficulties involved in things like losing a loved one. one, being the bullied, having your own business and much more.

All in all, considering this was my first book by this author, I’m quite impressed and will definitely recommend it.

Lily Gold Pretend With Benefits was a lot of fun to read.

We meet Layla, a woman who is strong and successful herself despite the adversity and difficulties she faced with high school bullies and her 3 very different and attractive best friends/neighbors.
Zack, Josh and Luke were delicious in their own way and each brought something unique to the table and to their relationship.

Layla starts out useless in dating. She can’t seem to find a guy to stay past a second date… so her best friends decide to help her out and conduct an experiment, recording the results on their weekly podcast.

What can a former sports star, her former teacher, and a brooding workaholic teach her?
Read this to find out. I loved everything about it. It made me laugh, it was hot and spicy, it was cute. The transcripts and Twitter feeds following each podcast were a lot of fun and also added a unique layer and perspective.
The book is also written in all his angles, so we all got his ideas.

It was great. The perfect, fun, contemporary RH romance. The additional epilogue also tied their stories together perfectly. Highly recommended.

I loved that, I really loved that. First of all, the multiple perspective was an essential and incredible choice to tell this story and it was done very well. The length of the chapters was short enough that I never forgot what point I was on and the overall reading experience was excellent. Each character had their own emotional journeys and my heart ached for each of them.

I loved Layla as fmc. She was very nice and relatable. It was like talking to a friend, sometimes she was annoying, sometimes she made me laugh and many times I wanted to wrap her in a hug and talk sense into her. His dedication to his work is admirable and his success is wonderful to see. We see her grow as a business owner and as a person as she navigates her business, her relationships, trauma from her past, and the pesky devil of social media.

The exploration of slut-shaming and the long-term harmful effects of bullying (particularly the kind that Layla suffered from as a teenager) was very well done and I was so happy to see her finally say fuck it and hit everyone. It happens to many young people (especially girls) and needs to be stopped and taken seriously.

The author wasn’t kidding in the author’s opening note when she said that was a deceptively hot shake, but overall it was very hot.

I immediately jumped at the opportunity to read the additional chapters available by subscribing to the Lily Gold newsletter and am so glad I did. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read this but Lavender is everything and I’m so happy how Layla’s love story has come to an end.
