A long time ago her mother abandoned her, but before she instilled this fear in her by constantly letting her move from one place to another.

However, she is increasingly determined to get answers about what’s going on, and eventually ends up somehow at odds with Jasper Saint, a rogue agent. He pretends to be a billionaire but also offers her protection if she agrees to become his fiancé. your reasons? I can’t tell you, but you’ll discover them as you read. Great secrets are being kept from Kala and Jasper could have become her fiancé, but will he really be her husband? I really enjoyed reading this book. It was so good and I devoured it and now I really need more.

We jump back into the Rogues universe and this time it’s time for the Saint story. While we’ll understand it better once we’re introduced to its lead, Kaya Reynolds. Not only do the couple struggle with individual problems (e.g. family problems, company takeovers, missing mother), but the sham engagement becomes something tangible.

Among other things, Jasper tries to strike a balance between a rogue agent and the CEO of his family’s tech company, Saint Technology. Then there’s Kaya Reynolds, a photography student searching for answers about what really happened to her missing mother five years ago. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I will say that I have to guess and see which of my theories were correct. There are also many familiar faces and new ones that we are also looking forward to.

I will say that I only want to “talk” to Jasper’s father and a few others in the book. Jasper and Kaya had persistent moments that made me want to give each of them a little “nudge” in the right direction. However, en route to their Happy Ever After, they acted together. Overall I liked this story. We are excited and patiently awaiting the next story from Westin aka Rook.
