Osnos successfully blends an up close and personal journalistic style with a broader analytical perspective derived from research and interviews on his topic and many others.

He portrays Biden’s career as entirely based on an understanding of the suffering and struggles of others gained through her own personal tragedies, rather than being shaped by the entitlement of so many male politicians. Just weeks after becoming a senator in 1972, his wife and daughter died in a car accident, while his son Beau died of a brain tumor in 2015. Given the debris Donald Trump left behind, it can only be positive that the background of Biden suggest knowing how to help a distraught and desperate population and nation get back on their feet.

As of this writing, Joe Biden is the President-elect of the United States and will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on January 20 after the most important, divisive, and insane election in American history. USA. A choice that I am sure will overwhelm psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, politicians, and historians for decades to come, and that’s not even considering epidemiologists, economists, geoscientists, environmentalists, criminologists, and sociopath hunters.

The unpredictable roller coaster ride of the 2020 election and the unusual circumstances surrounding it seem typical of Joe Biden’s own life: a life of heartbreaking tragedy and great political triumph. His peers often described him as the happiest person they knew and the unhappiest. Evan Osnos, a staff writer for The New Yorker, has written a brief review of the political events and developments that shaped Biden’s political career. A career that has endured unimaginable family loss with the death of his first wife and two children that required a deep soul-searching but never failed to reaffirm his dedication to public service. A working-class man with big dreams: the true American dream.

Joe Biden’s approach of working with colleagues and opponents to reach a compromise solution has led to his being recognized as a politician with strong bipartisan support. Probably the main reason Obama chose him as his vice president, and a role he accepted with intense loyalty to Obama and returned knowing Biden had skills he himself lacked.

I was fascinated by this US election and over the years I have collected information from various sources about Joe Biden, Barak Obama and Donald Trump. There is nothing new in this book, but it does provide a summary of the highlights that help paint the picture of a man of faith, perseverance, empathy, experience, mistakes, errors, and loyalty. The fact that the campaign began almost in the primaries to get to the Democratic nominee for president certainly shows the rocky road he is on and the support he has garnered along the way, including from many of his own party opponents.

The book also looks at the America that Biden will inherit, with a deadly pandemic crisis largely unresolved at the federal level, a crisis of racial injustice that has spawned Black Lives Matter initiatives around the world, an economic collapse, a climate crisis , a foreign policy in complete disarray and almost unbelievable that the world’s most recognized democracy is on the brink of collapsing into autocracy. I hope that history judges Joe Biden as the right man, in the right place, at the right time.

Joe Biden: American Dreamer is a look at the political dreams of Biden himself and is delivered in a concise book, skillfully observed and pieced together from conversations Osnos had with many of Biden’s friends and acquaintances. I would recommend this book for a quick overview of Joe Biden, a man who was asked to serve his country during one of the most difficult times in its history.
