Lucien is a heated paranormal romance of MM with consorts, with HEA and no cliffhangers. He introduces a morally gray, obsessive vampire with anger management issues and the bright, playful human who can be his equal in possessive romantic tendencies. It also contains steamy scenes between two men and the mild violence (and mentions of gore) you might expect from a vampire romance. This book can be read individually, but the series is best enjoyed in order (reading the first book first is recommended).

So now for the evaluation.

AHAHASHSHSHHAJDODOSLSLLSDKKD (that’s me yelling). I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for Lucien for a long time. I know he was the villain in book 1 but I don’t care! Mom, I’m in love with a criminal. Mom, I’m in love with a tracker. Mom, I’m in love with a nearly feral vampire. No matter!!!! I loved this man. I also absolutely adored Jamie. I don’t remember ever laughing so hard while reading a book. Jamie definitely gave Lucien a chance and that’s what I’m here for.

Also the fact that Jamie is clairvoyant and saw Lucien in his visions for years before they met? How fucking cool is that. That’s the best idea I’ve ever heard. And as always, we have to mention the genre. IT WAS GOOD!!! Fabulous. Delicious. Perfect. He knew that this author could write some good sex scenes, so he was happy to read more.

We’re meeting some new vampires in this book, so I wonder if we’ll see any books about them in the future. We also got to see Jay again, and boy do I love this little guy. His book is next and I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be so cute. Anyway, please read this. This is probably my favorite book in the series so far. xoxoxoxoxoxox

Lucien is the story that intrigued me the most and is everything I expected and more. Luc is a hunted vampire who is complicated and brooding. I loved looking inside his head and hearing his monster, who is the most vocal on the show so far. This story also has one of the best introductions to a sidekick in Jamie. Jamie doesn’t stop and the intensity of him sends Luc running into the mountains in shock.

Luc and Jamie are the perfect couple. Jamie is the light in Luc’s darkness. Jamie is full of warmth, joy and love, and when his energy is directed directly at Luc, he creates such an interesting dynamic that even Luc finds it difficult to absorb all the attention.

Luc has a lot of insecurities that he’s still processing and seeing his humanity finally come to the surface was so much fun to watch and Jamie’s determination and bravery made him the best possible partner.

My really favorite aspect of this story is seeing Luc so mesmerized and also in awe of Jamie’s strength and the hidden talents. Jamie is a force to be reckoned with, to the point where he can have total control over Luc and his monster. His dynamic is so intense and I loved seeing how in love Luc and his monster are with his partner.

Overall, Lucien is another fabulous part of this series. I love how each entry differs so drastically in tone, making each relationship perfectly unique. Luc stole my heart while he belongs to Jamie. They are an amazing couple and I can’t wait to see more of this world.
