After Blaire finds out she has a half-sister and no one tells her – not even Rush, to whom she gave her heart – and everyone has horrible thoughts about her mother that can’t be true, she leaves Florida and returns to Alabama . , where his mother and twin sister are buried in the only house he has ever known.

But even though Blaire ran away from the problems that got in her way, she can’t run away from them. Especially when she realizes she’s pregnant with Rush’s child.

However, he can no longer trust Rush. The secret that her father has another daughter is too much to keep from her — she had a right to know instead of running around Rush’s family telling horrible lies about her mother and herself.

Blaire then finds herself back in Florida, living with her closest friend Bethy and back to working as a waitress at the country club. Only 4 people know their secret about the baby, but Rush is not one of them. Which doesn’t stop Rush from getting back together with Blaire, but Blaire has a hard time forgetting what happened.

Rush is over his head. He has to protect Nannette from everything that happened, but he was devastated when Blaire left him. Now that she’s really back, he won’t lose her again. He won’t allow it.

But trying to get Blaire and Nan to get along doesn’t work. Nan can’t get over what happened and treats Blaire horribly. Soon, Rush must choose between these two girls: the one he’s protected all his life or the love of his life who could tear his world apart.

Just when Rush could have made up his mind, everything falls apart when one of the women he loves has a boating accident and is left unconscious in the hospital. Can Rush really choose between the two, or will he be torn in two forever?

And will Blaire ever be able to trust Rush again, or is the pain between them too great to forgive and forget?

MY THOUGHTS / CONSIDERATIONS
Just a word of warning, this is a NEW GROWTH novel, meaning it’s a little more mature and graphic than a young adult novel, but not overly edgy like an adult novel. New Adult (NA) novels are primarily set in college and feature characters who are beginning to grow up but are still doing things that are immature.

Wow. I flew through this novel and ended up wanting more!

It was definitely different than the first novel, but it’s okay because we got to know Blaire and Rush better. This novel also allowed the reader to read Rush’s point of view instead of just Blaire’s as in the first novel, so it was a nice change of pace to finally understand how Rush felt about Blaire and the situation.

However, I felt that Blaire wasn’t as energetic or determined as in the first novel. Probably because he had nothing else to do and didn’t know what to do in his situation, but I missed his 9mm pistol that he drew in the last novel!

This novel definitely had a lot more sex than the first and very graphic too. But we cleared the first meeting hurdle in the first novel, so the sexual tension blazed through this book!

I was so excited for this book that I paid over $0.99 as usual! I’m so glad I did because I couldn’t wait to learn more about Rush and Blaire 🙂

This was originally supposed to be the end of her story, which would have disappointed me. Don’t get me wrong, it ended pretty well, but I think there’s a lot more that could be said about these two. They definitely won’t have a life without drama, not with their messy pedigree, and it turned out well in the end. Also, other relationships could be saved and started if continued in another novel.

And Abbi Glines has really decided to write a third novel in the series! It was only after readers begged and begged that she declared on Facebook and Twitter that she would start writing another one for all of us! I’m so excited to see what the world Glines created has in store!

I would definitely recommend this novel, but keep in mind that there is a lot of sex and language in this novel and you should definitely read the first novel to keep up. Older readers are probably better than teenagers, too. I can do the next Can’t wait for your next novel and I’m so glad I got it straight away!
