Lia Harris is tired of being the underdog. She never quite fitted into her uptight family, and now that all of her roommates have found love, she feels like a third wheel in her own apartment. Tired of her mother’s constant interference in her love life, Lia drops hints about a friend she doesn’t have. But with her brother’s wedding in London fast approaching, she needs to find a date to save face. Lia turns to her best friend Rosie for help, and Rosie settles in with the funny and beautiful Grace Poston.

Grace loves to have a good time and hides her insecurities behind a bright smile. Her recent move to London has given her a much-needed fresh start.

Grace isn’t looking for love, and she hates weddings, having endured more than her fair share of heartache. Friendships are different, however, and for Rosie’s sake, she reluctantly agrees to pose as Lia’s beloved bride at the wedding celebrations.

Both Grace and Lia are prepared for an awkward weekend, with nosy family members and a spare room with just one bed. It turns out they actually get along spectacularly. Before they know it, their fake chemistry seems all too real. But is their wedding weekend a fleeting gig or a rehearsal for a love meant to last?

Lia, who is looking for love, a real relationship and ready to settle down, needs a sham relationship for her brother’s wedding and agrees to go with Grace if she is willing. Grace, who wants nothing to do with love or a relationship and has vowed not to have dated in five years, reluctantly agrees to be Lia’s date because of their mutual best friend, Rosie.

A fake date turns into a road trip that allows Lia to return the favor and help Grace after receiving a disturbing email from a DNA site she signed up to find answers to her parents’ mysteries .

During the wedding weekend and subsequent road trip, Lia and Grace enjoy getting to know each other and becoming good friends. Despite mutual feelings forming between them, Grace has made it clear that she is not interested in a relationship and Lia agrees to respect that despite their mutual attraction and her own desires.

They still have strong chemistry between them and agree to just kissing, which they do quite frequently, and their kisses eventually lead to more, much more; and their sexual intimacy is hot and passionate.

However, Lia is a direct communicator and Grace is a runner, along with shocking news that creates much drama and leads to heartbreak and the loss of their friendship.

Surprising answers and a horrific accident give them some much-needed perspective and a second chance to face their heart’s deepest yearnings.

Fake dating trope – a bed – opposites attract – road trip adventures, need I say more? This had all of my favorite elements and was an amazing read.

Lia needs a date for her brother’s wedding. Enter Grace, who charms Lia’s family and then decides to accompany Lia back to the United States to solve a “mystery” that has shaped her entire life. ?

The first part of the book is set in London and with all that wrong date/bed, it was undeniably fun and hot. For me, the book really shined in the second part, where it got a bit more serious, but really romantic.
As the two embarked on their road trip, I loved how slowly they began to fall in love, although disapproval was expressed every step of the way. There are also many hot scenes during said journey and the tension between these two characters is great ?.

I loved both of those characters, but Grace’s was particularly complex as that incident affected all of her decisions and shaped her perspective on relationships and love. I also enjoyed Lia and Grace’s flirtatious banter, arguments and mutual understanding considering how opposite they are when it comes to addressing issues. Lia is the speaker, the analyzer in contrast to Grace, who likes to brood and run away from problems she’d rather not face.

Rosie and Jane from “Read Between the Lines” also make an appearance and bring a lot of lightness to the whole story. The heartbreak part was pretty brutal and made me really feel for Lia, but at the same time I felt sorry for what Grace was going through. Yeh!

I’ve wanted to read this book since Lacey announced the plot and it certainly delivered. No Rings Attached is the second book in a series, it can be read on its own and was definitely my favorite.
