Promise Me Always is book #4 in the Redemption Hills series. Each book follows a different set of characters and can be read independently, but to get the most out of the story it is recommended that you read the books in order.
Tessa is the happiest and most selfless person I have ever met. Their current relationship is extremely toxic (we see bits of it in the other books) but her friends don’t understand why she stays with him when they can see how much she fears him whenever he’s around. When the last glass breaks and she leaves him because she has nowhere to go, Milo offers to stay with him until he gets back on his feet. Promise to shield her from any backlash of her breakup. After all, that’s what friends are for. But there’s a lot more at stake for Milo than he ever realized.

Milo is a goalkeeper at club Absolution. When he first saw Tessa, he knew he was in trouble, but he kept his distance and strictly remained their friendship. When he finds her sitting alone in front of the club, he takes her home with him. Milo has a lot in his life that was hidden and having Tessa in his space has opened up his whole life.
Not to mention how intuitive it is, it seems like you can see through it. When she offers to be his fake fiancé to help him get his kids back, he knows he has to say no, but nothing is more important than his kids. With a past like hers, all she can do is hope that she stays in the past and keeps everything she loves safe.
I loved this book so much. I can even say that it’s my favorite of the series. Almost 500 pages and I feel like I blinked and it’s over. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Tessa in the first book but definitely had questions about her and her situation. Here we have all the answers. I loved Tessa’s strength and determination. She constantly put her heart on the line and constantly revealed everything even though she knew it could be harmful. Then there’s Milo, and I… I don’t even know where to start with him. My heart ached so much for him.
His past was dark and shadowy. He lived with so much guilt, pain and loss that he felt he never deserved anything good let alone loved. And that just made me want to love him even more. I loved the way Tessa was involved. He saw all parts of Milo and made it clear that he wasn’t going to walk away from him. This was definitely a story that showed that it’s possible to find love in the deepest, darkest of places. I really enjoyed seeing both Milo and Tessa happy and seeing various cameos from all of our other Redemption Hills couples!
