I’ve loved Elk’s writing of Carrie in the past and this romantic comedy just confirms what a great writer she is. Myles and Ava have had a hate relationship ever since they met and now they have to work together, which makes for a great story when a few other factors come into play and we discover that there is a very different side to Myles’ character. This steamy romance between enemies and lovers is well written with fantastic characters. I laughed as my heart melted. Now I can’t wait to read more about the Salinger brothers.
This book was very funny, whimsical and entertaining. It drew me in and grabbed my attention from the start and I didn’t want to put it down.
Ava and Myles initially bumped into each other and sparks flew, but this soon turned into flames of attraction. I liked that it was an older romance and that there wasn’t too much angst or drama. I loved that there were some funny moments, especially when Ava was trying to have a baby through, shall we say, less conventional methods!
Overall this was an enjoyable and light-hearted read and I can’t wait to continue with the other books in this new series.
This couple is so ridiculously adorable together. They have all the angst and emotion of the best enemies-to-lovers plots I’ve ever read. But it’s also easy to see hearts that both Myles and Ava are trying to protect. I loved this couple. Given that they’re both such fiercely independent caretakers, it’s no surprise that they initially rubbed each other the wrong way. All those sparks made me laugh, while these two proved that the opposite of love is certainly not hate. And now that I’ve had a chance to meet the rest of the Salinger clan, I can’t wait to read more about them.
Of all the Carrie Elks books I’ve read, this is my favorite.
Sparks fly and ignite once between Myles and Ava Wow! There are mixed messages and misunderstandings at first, but once it’s all resolved, Myles and Ava come together in more than just a business relationship. I loved the characters. I loved this story and can’t wait for the next book in this series. really nice to read
