David Baldacci born on August 5, year 1960 is an American writer. A lawyer by training, Baldacci primarily writes suspense novels and legal thrillers.
David Baldacci was born and raised in the Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from the Henrico High School and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law, after which he practiced in Washington, D.C. for nine years. Like a lawyer. He is of Italian descent and hails from Barga in Tuscany.
Baldacci began writing stories as a child when his mother gave him a notebook to write them down. He wrote short stories and subsequent screenplays for more than two decades without much success.

David Baldacci is a prolific author who writes independent series and thrillers. Unlike other bestselling authors (no names, no exercises), Baldacci is a very good writer. My favorite of his series is John Puller’s, followed by The Memory Man and The Camel Club. I’ve also enjoyed a lot of the other series and one-offs of it. I am a great fan.
This book is excellent; exciting and confusing, tense and fast-paced. Typical Baldacci, yes! Travis Devine appears to be one type of guy, but he’s actually quite different. To all appearances, Devine is a faceless underling snooping around the financial industry, but he’s also a former Army Ranger captain, a West Point graduate, with a wit and courage of steel.
This was such an entertaining book. I hope this is the first in a series as Travis Devine is too good of a character to waste. A reader can always count on David Baldacci to write a good thriller, and he doesn’t disappoint his readers with The 6:20 Man. This is very good, you will enjoy reading it.
Past and present collide for Travis when his ex-girlfriend, Sara, is found hanged in his Wall Street office. A West Point graduate and ex-Army Ranger, he now uses his MBA for a job that is somewhat less rewarding, he thought. safer Not so much. The New York Police Department thinks he should be a suspect in Sara’s death, but even more dangerously, the United States Government wants him to investigate the company’s shady dealings.
There is action, there is conspiracy. There are current affairs. It’s all a bit over the top and might seem a bit familiar to readers of the genre, but Travis is likable. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A good travel or beach book.
