LJ Ross (pseudonym for Louise Ross) is the best-selling author of the DCI Ryan romantic thriller series. Her first novel, Holy Island, was published in January year 2015 and reached number one on the UK Amazon chart in May. Its sequel, Sycamore Gap, released in September year 2015, is also a bestseller in the UK. She has published other books in the DCI Ryan series and has racked up a further nine UK number one books and is reported to have sold over 4,000,000 copies.
Ross was born and raised in Northumberland. She completed an undergraduate and postgraduate law degree at the King’s College London, where she met her husband, and continued her studies in Paris and Florence. After spending most of her twenties as a lawyer in the city, she began to feel that it was time for a change.
After the birth of her child, she wrote the first draft of Holy Island, inspired by the atmospheric beauty of Lindisfarne, a place she had known well since childhood. After her success, she now writes full time. Sycamore Gap, the second book in his DCI Ryan series of novels, is set in the land of Hadrian’s Wall and subsequent DCI Ryan novels continue the Northumbrian settings with stories set in the Northumberland, County Durham and Newcastle.
Ross lives in Northumberland with her husband and her child.
