I knew Christopher Miles’ story was going to be wild, and to a large extent it was. It was a love story that brought two very different people into extraordinary, unusual and equal circumstances. Otherwise they would never have met and would never have given each other a chance. Meeting in this way allowed them to meet as individuals and equals without Chris’ wealth and Hayden’s situation preventing them from exploring what could be between them.

Christopher Miles lives the rich life to the fullest, enjoying women, cars and alcohol. What he doesn’t realize that his existence is hollow. So your big idea for finding your inner depth is to leave it all behind for a year and have no access to your wealth. He plans to live under the radar. When he arrives in Spain, he realizes what a mess he’s gotten himself into. Then slowly, over time, he begins to see the people around him. Start living, then love. Hayden is easygoing and always up for a challenge. She brings a vitality to his life that he didn’t even know he missed. But there’s a problem: she has no idea who he really is.

I enjoyed this love story. It was a bit chaotic at times and didn’t have a big climax or ending but rather a slow meander into the HEA. It was a bit anticlimactic, but it worked well for me. I have to say that I didn’t like the beginning of the book. I thought Chris was an idiot and the events that were just hitting Spain seemed more fitting for a romantic comedy and felt a bit ridiculous in a contemporary novel. But after that I really enjoyed the light humor and story that unfolded.

Another thing I want to point out is that T needed an American publisher. Both characters are American and used British words and phrases throughout. That annoyed me a bit and pulled me out of the story a bit. You could forgive Chris for that, as he’s lived and worked in London for quite some time, but I’m still not sure he would have been that British. Overall this is a good story that I enjoyed but it’s not my favorite of the series.

Christopher Miles enjoys the finer things in life, but he has never taken the time to stop and open his eyes to appreciate the little things in life or the things money and prestige can’t buy. When his brothers relentlessly point this out, Christopher decides to prove them wrong and sets off for a year to find himself. He befriends a group of people at the hostel and they have the time of their lives partying wherever the road leads. Hayden Whitmore has caught the eye of Christopher, but she’s not his usual type of woman and seems immune to his more determined charm.

Hayden is an only child and grew up on a farm. Her mother insists she take this journey so Hayden can see the world and see what it has to offer, including finding his soulmate. Christopher meets a boy named Eddie who will harden your heart. Between Hayden and Eddie and the challenges of backpacking, Christopher begins to see things from a very different perspective, and by the end of the book, this journey will change his life forever.

TL Swan perfected this book! I love the character of Hayden and how patient he is with Christopher. Eddie is incredibly precious and I just want to hug and hold him. Christopher is so giddy and has a heart of gold. And yes, he has the Miles trait of the alpha who talks dirty in the bedroom. This book made me cry and ache in my heart, it made me laugh out loud and I thought I was going to piss my pants in Chapter 19 with Julian Masters, Spencer Jones and Sebastian Garcia in the yachting scene.

This book is what the world needs right now. You feel connected as if you are on this journey with them and it makes you want to experience backpacking on your own and be free to see the world. It makes you feel that there is hope and that they are still fine in this world. I strongly recommend you to buy this book and feel all this wonderful magic.
