Lara, a queen now exiled as a traitor, witnessed the conquest of Ithicana by her own father, unable to do anything to stop the destruction. But when she learns that her husband Aren was captured in battle, Lara knows there is only one reason her father lets him live: as bait for her treacherous daughter.

And he is a bait that is dying to bite.

Risking her life for the Tempest Seas, Lara returns to Ithicana with a plan to not only free the king from her, but to free the Bridge Kingdom from her father’s clutches with her own weapons: the sisters whose lives she spared.

But not only is the palace inescapable, there are more players in the game than Lara ever thought, enemies and allies changing sides in the fight for crowns, kingdoms and bridges. But her greatest adversary may be the very man she is trying to free: her husband whom she betrayed.

With everything she loves in jeopardy, Lara have to decide who and what she is fighting for: her kingdom, her husband, or for herself.

The Traitor Queen Book Pdf Download

The Traitor Queen by Danielle L. Jensen is the second book in the series The Bridge Kingdom. We stopped in the first book with Lara, a queen who put Ithicana in danger and has now become a traitor to her own kingdom, while Aren was captured in battle by Lara’s father. After learning the consequences of her mistakes, Lara is determined to bring the Bridge Kingdom under her rightful ruler and save Aren from the agony of capture. She is willing to do anything, even ask the sisters she left behind for a favor to save and risk her freedom. This book is packed with action, intrigue, and heartbreak!

This book was literally so damn good! I wish I had known about this series when I finished Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I had the biggest book hangover of my life and that would have been my cure! The Traitor Queen absolutely exceeded my expectations as a continuation of this well thought out series. All the while I was hoping that Ithicana could take a break, but they were constantly being attacked, which is nothing new. This kingdom has been fighting since its creation and they are not giving up! The change between perspectives was very good and it was very well timed within the story.

The relationship was literally so heartbreaking. I got so mad at both characters that I went back and forth about how I felt. I see a lot of comments saying they got mad at Aren for being so indecisive. But I thought she was 100% realistic! Aren must come to terms with the fact that someone she loves dearly can no longer be due to the tragic loss and injury Lara inflicted on him.

I also understand Lara’s side, where she grew up knowing only one thing: to bring down the Bridge Kingdom! It took him a while to see who the real enemy was and he had to turn around and fix that. Aren had to choose her people over the girl he loved, and I have a feeling Lara understood that, no matter how much she hurt him. I loved the back and forth between the two characters and she made me smile and cry.

I will not lie; I was a bit disappointed in the ending. SPOILER WARNING!! We don’t know the outcome of their relationship until literally the last 5 pages and it fell out of my head. I was hoping for a further explanation with Aren and the people of Ithicana, but we never got one. The action was literally great at the end, but then I was like, “Um, hello?”.

Other than the ending, this book was really amazing. I’ve been thinking about this series for DAYS. This book was borderline with all the chaos and I loved it! I will definitely recommend this series to any fantasy romance lover!
