Right Man Right Time is the third story in Meghan Quinn’s Vancouver Agitators series, following Kiss and Don’t Tell (2021) and That Three Little Words (2022). I have read and listened to the book, with audio editing, narrated by Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke, and although it is part of a series, it works well as a standalone book for those readers and listeners who have not read the first two books. or they are just discovering the author’s writing for the first time. Like books one and two, this is a hockey romance with Quinn’s quirky brand of comedy plus a ten-year age difference and mutually beneficial fake dates.

When 21-year-old college student Oliana “Ollie” Owens from Portland, Oregon, unexpectedly runs into her jerk ex — an ex who replaced Ollie with his nemesis — she decides to make a stand, and so she stands up and making out with the hot stranger at the bar.

Only the guy turns out to be quite well known. He is none other than 31-year-old hockey pro Silas Taters and part of the Vancouver rioters. For a penny, for a pound, because the two decide to enter into a fake relationship. She will love his internship, he will make her ex stay away from him. Easy as pie as long as they stick to the agreed rules. But when the rules are broken, does that mean their hearts are involved too?

Right Man Right Time is the kind of story that works beautifully when paired with the right storytellers. Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke brought a twist to this great tale of romance, hockey and everything in between. While the fake relationship trope isn’t a choice for me, Meghan Quinn’s perfect blend of romance and comedy made Ollie and Silas’ story one I couldn’t just hit pause on.

Heck, I barely paused listening to this in the 12+ hours it played through my speakers. But that’s what happens when you have a story as compelling and as perfectly told as the combination of Quinn, Hunter and Clarke. Right Man, Right Time easily earns five stars as an audiobook and eBook, and I can’t wait for more books in this series to come out!

I had a lot of fun reading Right Man Right Time book. I fell madly in love with Silas and Ollie’s love story and didn’t want to put it down. I laughed with them, suffered for them and was finally rewarded with a very happy heart and a huge smile of love. This romance has many of my favorite romantic tropes – slow romance, age difference, fake dates – it really has it all.

To save face after meeting her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend (her work enemy), Ollie kisses a random guy at a bar. Not realizing he’s a famous hockey player, she somehow ends up in a fake relationship with Silas going through his own troubles after breaking up with his longtime girlfriend.

He adored Silas and Ollie so much. The plot of this is SO addicting and it was so entertaining and hilarious watching Silas and Ollie’s antics and their lively personalities. They are perfectly flawed characters, riddled with mistakes and assumptions that created rollercoaster dynamics. His jokes are sharp and hilarious, his course is unique, different and intricate. Honestly this is one of the funniest books I have ever read, I laughed out loud many times and devoured this story in one go. I couldn’t put it down. Their chemistry is so contagious that I grinned from ear to ear the entire time I read this.

Right Man Right Time story pulls emotions in all directions. I laughed and cried reading this book… my heart! It’s wonderfully funny, smart, sexy and so much fun to read. This story was fun and different, sweet but peppered with a healthy dose of angst and heartbreak. I really couldn’t get enough of this book. Everything from the characters to the story felt fresh and unexpected and I loved every second of it.
