This is the beginning of Scarlett’s story. Yes, Penny and James’ daughter. She was in love with Axel her whole life. She always dreams that he is the first in everything. She wanted him to kiss her for the first time. With the help of Sophie, Rob’s daughter (literally the female version of Rob!), Liam (Scarlett’s little brother) and RJ (Rob’s son and the little Rob version), she finds herself in a series of wacky and fun situations she can bring her lots of laughs!

Can you imagine having your first day as a senior after a long summer, wearing your best contacts and high heels, and falling down in the middle of the hallway in front of your nemesis and the love of your life? Then imagine that your entire transformation wasn’t for the guy you’re trying to impress because he prefers your old looks. Did you see your sweetheart kiss your nemesis and finally realize your dad will be your coding teacher all year long?

Not to mention he caught her in inappropriate clothing and she’s grounded for a week. Wait, she’s going to miss the first party of the year!
But when Hunter kids decide that to play dirty, they do it! Scarlett has to go to the party and they’re going to make it happen!

Now she’s at the party, which looks more like a circus, complete with snakes, a boxing ring and a kiss thief. Yes, Scarlett got her kiss, but now she doesn’t know who kissed her! Girl, you’ve got a whole football team with options, but now she faced possible suspects: Jacob Miller and Axel Stevens.
Get ready to laugh! This book is fun and Ivy Smoak was beyond creative with the escape plan! There is also a reference to the Single Girl Rules!

I really enjoyed this book. Scarlett finds herself in a situation where her mother is struggling with the attraction of two of her best friends. I was always Team Tyler, so you’d think I’d want her with her childhood friend, Axel. But I have a heart for the Jacob because I loved his father too. Also, Jacob seems like a nice guy. I can’t decide who I would choose if I were Scarlett. I also love the fact that she is so sweet and beautiful but she doesn’t know it herself. It’s truly hard to believe that the daughter of Penny and the Professor Hunter would have a daughter who was bullied.

The best thing about this book are the three supporting characters. Sophie, Rob’s daughter, is like her father and very funny. There is one scene in this book that is embarrassing but funny at the same time. RJ and Liam are confident freshmen who come to a new school and blend in perfectly. His antics are hilarious and you’ll note that RJ is a chip off the old block, meaning he’s Rob’s son through and through. I actually laughed out loud at one point in this book, and I haven’t read a book in a long time.

The only negative thing about it is that I wish it was longer because it left you on a cliffhanger. I also wish I had had Axel and Jacob’s point of view. I can’t wait to read more about these characters and find out who the hell kissed them.
