This is the first book I’ve read by author Lyn Liao Butler, but it definitely won’t be the last. Spoiler alert!! Caveat. When I started reading this book, I couldn’t stop reading. I literally had to finish to find out what happened to Annie and Brody and Finn and of course Serena. Annie was so depressed that she sort of had a well-deserved pity party.

Very bad things have happened to her and her family over the years. Her marriage is in trouble and her son is having nightmares and wants to talk about what is causing them. Then, Serena walks in on the scene during a bad storm and things start to fall apart. Selena is crazy I will have to read and now to see how bad she is.

Someone Else’s Life book is so well written. I felt like I was listening to a friend tell a story. Annie will surprise you. She will do anything to protect the family from her. Also, is Serena really gone? Will there be a sequel to this book? Will someone find out the truth about Finn? We will have to wait. She must read. Ms. Butler is an author that I hope is on the list. Now I’m going to buy her other books.

Annie and her husband Brody move to Hawaii with her son Finn at their Lake House in New York after an accident. Annie’s family is on Kauai and she needs some time to think, as she too suffered the loss of her studio. One day, during a terrible storm, a woman named Serena knocks on her door saying that her car is broken down and that she needs help.

Annie lets her in and at first she is not sure about this woman, after several messages to her husband, she feels comfortable and they bond and share some important events in her life. But then things get weird and Annie realizes that Serena knows too much about her life. Who is this woman and what does she want?

I started this book in the morning and couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was going on here. It was a little slow to start, but it still piqued my interest. When I got to the big reveal, I was a bit surprised because I wasn’t expecting the twist. I would recommend this to my friends. I really liked the setting and idea of this book. It was a little different from what I’ve read lately.
