Morgan Elizabeth never fails! Sure, I’ve only read two of her books, but both were absolute perfection.

Abbie seeks revenge on her ex. He made her feel small and useless and made her change almost everything about her. He breaks up with her on the side of the road on Halloween. So she and her friends come up with a plan to get back at him, which involves sleeping with her boss, someone she hates so much. What she didn’t expect was that Damien would not only heal her, but be absolutely for her.

I found the revenge plan amazing. Abbie’s ex used her as his personal assistant and she was able to control every part of his life. So she was able to play around with every part of his life! In the end, seeing her ex so disheveled and not knowing that Abbie had everything to do with it was worth its weight in gold.

ALSO Damien Martinez was perfection. He was honest about not wanting anything serious, just like Abbie. But when things started to change between them, he didn’t hide it either. He may not have been entirely transparent, but he remained honest. He wanted to meet her family, he wanted her to meet his, he wanted her to be close to him, just like that. He fell in love with her. And he made sure she knew her worth, that she was perfect just the way she is.

Abbie had to process so much trauma from her ex. It took her a long time to realize how real Damien was. All because of the shit his ex did to him. It was great to see her really come back to herself!

It was amazing to read Morgan Elizabeth about her own development over the last year. I’ve liked all of her books but somehow she makes each one better than the last and outdid herself with Tis the Season for Revenge.

Abbie has spent four years veiling herself to fit her lawyer friend’s vision of what a lawyer’s wife is: no rose, dampening her laughter and essentially acting as his personal assistant. When he breaks up with her in the car on Halloween, she and her friends hatch a plan to get back at him. And the best part? Abigail sleeps with her handsome older boss, Damien, and asks him to take her to the annual Christmas party in all her blonde and pink glory. Damien is lonely and doesn’t see a future with a woman, but he now wants to date Abigail. But as everyone knows, feelings will definitely develop between the two.

That was so good. It handled perfectly the clear verbal abuse Abbie was experiencing at the hands of her ex, to the point where she slowly realized how bad it was and rediscovered herself. Abbie and her friend are amazing and Damien loves them for their true selves. This book is for every woman who has ever made a fool of herself for being herself or felt the need to tone down. TW for domestic violence in all its forms, parental neglect (in the past).

I swear I’ve been trying to wait for the holiday season but I’ve been raving about this book since Morgan posted the first 4 chapters and it didn’t disappoint. Talk about the perfect boyfriend from the books. I loved every word of this book, it was so good, full of growth, self love and discovery and so much dirty talk I blushed and sent screenshots to my friend. I can’t wait for the next book, I don’t care who stars, I just know I’m going to love it.
