For me, Beatriz was the most fascinating of the sisters. She was the twin who survived, described as the most beautiful of the sisters and the one who didn’t seem to care about the rules of society in general. Cleeton dropped a lot of hints about Beatrice as she told Elisa’s story, so I felt like we were going to have a great and captivating saga with this book. It wasn’t “feeling” but it was a great story.

Beatrice’s twin brother was killed by Castro’s soldiers, we learned about it in Book 1, and it seemed like she was out for revenge. While she was in Palm Beach with the American elite, she also worked with the CIA on a plot to kill Castro. With Cleeton unable to change history, we clearly know the plan failed. In the process, she won the affections of two men, neither of whom could win her heart.

As a lover of romance, she was disappointed that she didn’t find the love of her life, but for Beatriz, her destiny lay elsewhere.
Beatrice’s story was truly one of determination that took my breath away.
