The first arc of the series has come to an end and the second arc is preparing to begin. This book continues the story in a way that shows the characters are still working to establish the Trinity Accords and resolve any issues that arise. It also shows that not everything is fixed in PsyNet as we think, with the birth of the Honeycomb protocol the network is still dying, just more slowly than before.

Multiple storylines run simultaneously throughout the book, it’s done so well that all the stories flow together into one cohesive story. Just to name a few; Mercy prepares for the birth of the long-awaited puppies, the consortium launched a hit to kidnap Sascha and Lucas’ year-old daughter, Naya, and father Perez, who is a friend and fellow rebel along with Judd and Kaleb, finally decided to travel. back to his homeland in the hopes of finding the woman he really loves. BlackSea is also on the hunt for one of her missing persons and everyone is on board to help bring her home.

Although there is a lot going on, it flows so smoothly that you don’t notice the transition from one story to another. We can also revisit some of the previous couples in the series and there are some loose ends that are well tied and a few questions that are answered. Each character has grown so much and it’s great to be able to revisit them and see exactly how calm and happy they are now.

I have seen this book described as a filler and I think it could be called that, but I would call it a foundation builder for what follows. For die-hard fans of this series, there is a lot of important information and things hinted at in previous books hidden between the pages.

This is the end of the first arc of the Psy-Changeling series. The stories continue with Silver Silence, the first book in the next chapter, Trinity Accord. Anyone who’s ever had a solo book gets their five minutes to shine with an intricate weave that ties all of the characters from the various races together.

There’s a story about a kidnapped Change and the sizzling troubles Pay is having with her .psynet, then we have Lucas and Sascha (who started the whole series) dealing with a threat to their daughter Naya, and finally see we the long -waited for the arrival of the puppies. They are the main stories of this book, but there are also several smaller narrative arcs. The whole book has a great feel. There is a lot of love in these pages, contentment and family ties that make it a special read. Can’t wait to see where the books go, especially since we’re finally going to meet the bears.
