Julianne MacLean does not disappoint with this story. It is a love story, a mystery, a sad and very happy story. It has a bit of everything. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Very worth reading.

What would you do if the only love of your life just disappeared? What if it’s there one day and just vanishes into thin air at night? Would you perhaps believe it was taken over by aliens? Maybe a magnetic force? The Bermuda Triangle? Or did he somehow manage to get lost without a trace? This happened to Olivia when her husband Dean went to work one night. He’s a pilot and he has to take a big star somewhere, even though he’s supposed to be spending the night at her place. They’re trying to have a baby and they name it. Then she gets this horrible phone call saying he just disappeared. It just disappeared without a trace.

Now let’s go back a few years and meet Melanie Brown. She is a young woman going to the college. She’s working on his thesis, and it’s about the Bermuda Triangle. Her professor sends her to therapy after losing her mother and interest in her dissertation. He starts falling in love with his therapist, which can’t be good. Right? After a few months they start seeing each other but of course he tells her she has to keep it quiet or he can lose his driver’s license and get jailed. It’s against the law.

The lives of these two women are turned upside down by men. How will their lives intersect? Who do they have in common? So many secrets are revealed and hearts are broken. Lives will change forever. Some for the better in many ways and others not so well. This is a love story that has a bit of heartbreak. A big mystery. A love lost and a love found. It really is a pager turner. One you don’t want to leave.

Narrated by three main characters. Olivia, Melanie and Dean. Everyone has a story. Everyone has their own problems. Everyone has some secrets. Some good, some not so good. What will become of these three people? How will they end?

All my questions were answered and although I found out what happened it was a bit of a surprise. Just a bit. I honestly didn’t like Dean. It seemed too childish to me. He could have done better, although he had a lot to overcome. I felt sorry for him because of his childhood, but that’s it. He had so many things to be thankful for. I didn’t like Melanie very much, but I also had feelings for her.

She was just a very worried young woman who was overly dependent on men. Olivia was a rich young woman, but she was in no way petty or selfish. She was actually very generous. I would like. I loved Gabriel, you must read this to find out who he is. I really loved him.

This book was very different from what I have imagined. I liked the unexpected twists and turns. The way characters changed from what the reader might have ever expected. Mystery first, the pain it caused the protagonist Olivia and how she managed to make a living despite the unanswered questions she had for so long. It was also interesting how the mystery of the disappearance of the other main character was finally solved.

One thing this story shows or teaches is: Do we really know people the way we think we know them? Do we fall in love too quickly and make the other what he is not? Can we be fooled so easily, only to eventually discover that what we thought was true was never really true? Is it our fault, is it the fault of being too young, or all too often do we make others what they are not?

This book answers all questions and shows the reader what can happen when we indulge our dreams of others, instead of distinguishing much more carefully between lust and attraction, but not real and deep love. In a way, Olivia was saved by a man’s cowardice and then a real man’s love. I also bought the audio book to accompany the story while reading. It was played very well by 3 different people and added so much to the story just by reading it.

They take us from the glamor of New York City to the beach in Miami and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia in a story that will have you turning the page as you look forward to what happens next with Olivia Hamilton.

I loved this book. I couldn’t stop once I started. Julianne MacLean has written what I think is the best book she has ever written. It was like putting a jigsaw puzzle together and some of the pieces were in the right place and some didn’t fit until it was almost done and you found the right piece to put it all together.

Who was the real Dean Robinson and did he really disappear into the mysterious Bermuda Triangle? You have to read the book to find out. This book has gasp and tear-jerking romance, mystery and intrigue all packed together to make the reader turn the page to find out what happens next in the lives of Oliva, Dean and Meline .

Julianne MacLean’s Beyond The Moonlight Sea has a unique story with believable characters and so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.
